Ive searched... and i cant find the details i need, so heres my thred.

Im building an engine for a coustomer to go in a 2.6 pulling truck.

So far we have a 13mm ag pump from scheid, and a 76mm HX60 clipped to 66mm for obveious reasons. its got a 26cm houseing.

We are in need of injectors, a cam, head work/intake, and pistons.
The crank and rods will be stock units but ballanced.

Any suggestions? BTW we will be using a cam from zach hamilton but dont know wich to use. This needs to be at least a 1000hp build...

So you are building a engine that you know nothing about and want it to make 1000 hp....

Seriously! You really shouldnt take on this task for a customer that is putting their trust and money inuour lack of knowledge. Fine to do it on your own dime. Wade a min, kinda sounds familiar.

Camshaft = Talk to Zach if you are planning on running one of his cams and wanting a good suggestion, also PM Weston "Smokem" on here as well just for some extra info and insight

Cylinder head work / Runner intake = Joe Kolodziej @ Joker Fabrication he did my head on my 97. :rockwoot:

What he said^^^ should make a good truck but not smart building a truck like this for someone else when you never have yourself

This is called competition diesel, there is alot of good info here on building motors BUT that does not qualify or disqualify you to BUILD a 2.6 sled pulling motor.
I can give you my opinion on how to build the motor as can everyone else that's done the same. The thing that will kick you in the nuts is the fact that no one will give you all their secrets on how to make their choice of parts combination work, only experience can do that. Zach can sell you the most wonder full cam, Scheid can build you the most wonderful pump, Weston can build you some of the best injectors you'll ever lay your beaters on and Joe can fix you up with a badass head job but unless you have experience on how those parts work together the motor may never run to it's full potential. All we can do is offer help based on what you tell us and that has less chance of success than diagnosing a 6.0 powerstroke engine failure over the phone to someone in the middle of the Mojave dessert that has the slightest clue how to check the coolant level.

The OP's best (only?) shot at not screwing over his customer is to buy a 1000hp crate motor from Industrial and throw the 13mm and that 2.6 charger on it. Then pay a knowledgeable shop to tune it.

I know plenty about all cummins. weather its ve, p7100, vp44, or commen rail injection. ive built engines for our pulling tractor that dynoed on the high side of 750hp. Grant it that is gasoline but still stright six and 360 cubic inch. i know about building engine, ive done it im looking for more detailed information, such as who has made big power with scheid porting the head and who hasnt. Or if haisley has a beter rep. for head porting. see what i mean?
