Exhaust Manifolds Which one is Best

$250 to Do the coating is what I was told from, tech coatings for there thermalchrome(jet hot) inside n out . Thay all so told me it's only good to 1200degs goes on as a liqued spray. When it gets to hot it turns dull gray looking and will loose some of it abilitys to hold in heat. Calico coatings has a white coating thay say is good to 1800degs. And wonted $ 289 + shipping to do it . So unless you no someone to get a good deal on coating ,by a used manifold get it sand blasted put it on for hafe price of the same set up would cost new. Then it cracks and do it over and over and over agen . I guess some poeple have more time than others. There are many ways to go. How many time do you won't to go there .

come on now. your starting to get me turned on!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hum dont know about that but I know I dont want a cast iron turbine housing or manifold anymore. Id say normal temps at maybe 16/1700* or less one might not ever have an issue but when temps go way above where they should it seems that cast iron tends to fail? At least this is just my findings, I ran 2 iron turbine housings and 3 cast manifolds and they all are in a trash pile out back, stainless alloys just handles higher temp's better than cast iron

are you running s400's or S300's?

Why would you want the coatings done when you are the guy making the stainless manifolds ?

Why not ? Anything and everything you can do to make an improvement . When Exhaust gas heat can be used more efficient it improves are trucks on many levels .why not use the heat you make to work for you coatings ,manifold blankets , Stainless moon metal.

Why not just say who you really are instead of relentlessly pimping your stuff in the 3rd person ?
Your posts imply you're just a customer when you're really a manufacturer talking crap about cast everything.
Kinda makes your unbiased opinion as a consumer null and void....

i have a stainless diesel manifold and it looks good. ports size is big, it matchs gasket already. pre drilled 1/8 and 1/4npt. i know i have cracked 3 manifolds so far this year (cast iron). stainless is just a better way to go to avoid cracking.

i have a ATS and love it. no problems and looks great. also great customer support!!

From our engineer

This is true that stainless steel manifolds can withstand higher temperatures than ductile cast, Iron, there are other materials that will operate at high temps such as High Silicon molybdenum cast iron. The addition of molybdenum and higher silicon content can raise the maximum operating temperature to 1750 F. it will also withstand much higher temperatures for short periods without cracking. This is the same material used in turbine housings and automotive gas engine manifolds where higher temps are normal. Using standard ductile iron cast manifolds for high performance diesel engines is not advisable.

JT asked me to post this up, he thought it may hope, he is not much of Internet guy ;)
