Ok guys...forgive me if I'm stupid, but I know very little about drag racing, well actually nothing about it. Sled pulling is my thing...not drag racing.

Can someone or someones explain all the classes and how they work, and what trucks run best where?

I want to be able to understand the races this year instead of just watching like I'm a moron!! LOLLOL

Got to nadm and nhrda websites. All classes and rules are explained in detail. Main three types of racing would be bracket, index and heads up. Bracket you run a dial in time and the person closest to that time with out going too fast wins. Index the same goes but you don't have a dial in time. It is given for you to hit. Like a 12,0 index. Heads up is just that fastest to the finish. Very basic and short explaination.

The only clarification I would add is that in brackets the person who crosses the line first without going under their dial in time wins. The winner can actually be further off their time than the loser if they do better at the tree.

Find out when your local track has an open night and go have fun just to get the hang of things. Most tracks have a family fun night once a week or once a month where anyone can run what they brung. You'll soon get a feel for how it's done, the track officials are usually glad to give direction if you ask before your run.

The closest track to me is about an hour away...I'm honestly scared to go that far because if it breaks I have no way to get it home!

I wish I were like some of you guys and have a track right down the street...
