F106's

Been doing allot of research in the past few days on rear ends. Building a new truck and want the best I can get. A complete F106 with all the upgrades you can do is around 4500 a SQHD with sheet metal housing aluminum center section spool guaranteed not to break weighing in at 350 pounds for 5500. I am going with the sqhd.

You can convert a F106 to 8 lug for around 1000.

Is that 1000$ including buyin the f-106? or just the labor...Also after ya convert to 8 lug what size axles are they putin in them?

I Think Thats Just The Hubs,i Put Scs Hubs On My Sqhd,i Think They Were Around 1400 Maybe, but I Can Use Any 8bolt Rim

I think the proformance hubs are like $500 a lick but no idea if that's a bolt-on deal or welded/fabricated swap to get 8-slug. They are light-weight aluminum IIRC. I can't remember but maybe they are actually the SCS hubs?

Calvin, where did you find your SQHD or is it a built sheetmetal one?

C-ya

The aluminum 8 lug hubs just fit on the stock spindles. You will have to run a drive plate axle with them. You can order them in different lengths.

Roachie if you Did an 8 lug swap you could use front rotors and make a disc brake setup.

That is a good idea.

Could the same be applied to the SQHD? What the hell is and SQHD?

Find an old heavy tandem truck with 44,000 lb rears. Those are SQHD's. its a 22,000 lb rating as a single. beefy stuff. Obviously use the rear of the two without the power divider or through shaft.

There all front loaders. Check the tag on it. Id think the 106 would be more streetable though!

Na you probably would have about the same amount of money in it. Thier not as bad as most people think.

Not the money just rather run gas. Not going o build a truck without open drive line and not enough hooks around here for that.

I may be making quite a few (3-5) hooks in KY next year. That is if the truck doesn't sell.

Great, Ive got a Rockwell QHD center top loader with 4.10's.

I wish it was useful.
