H172 rockwell

Hey guys I have a H172rear and an FDS-75 front end (f106) that Im going to sell if anyone is interested they have 7.17 gears in them. Drop me a PM if you know of anyone. Thanks didnt mean to hyjack thread but I need some thing with 3.73 or 4.11 cant find anything for these.

i found a f 106 with 6.20 today on a 2wd f 600 truck my dad was scraping out.. i think i can get it for about scrap metal price ($100 per ton)...the thing is i don't even have a puller but would like to run a 2.6 or 2.8 soon...should i buy this rear and if so should i save the springs and the drive shaft?

Yea buy it thats what everybody is looking for you wont need the springs you cant run it in a 2.6 or 2.8 class

does anyone have any numbers that should be on an F106 to help identify one? think found a truck for 500obo and i could make money off that after scrapping it!!!

there should be a stainless steel tag on it identifying it as a Rockwell F106, there will also be some other numbers (serial #'s I would assume), date it was made and gear ratio. If the tag is missing you can identify them by the 16 bolts holding the pig to the housing and there will be two raised bolts (one at the top and the other at the bottom that require a little longer bold and a little smaller in dia (that is how I tell them appart anyway) there will also be a rockwell symbol right on the pig just above the pinion but its sometimes hard to see if its rusty.

The axle tubes will be retangular 3"x4" if you cant find a tag big 6 lug pattern. If you can find a tag it will be on the passenger side to the rear of the truck in most cases and will say F106 on the tag some where
