Final pull of the year, watch my clutch slip

Dont feel bad tj i lost my clutch saturday nite also ive been having problems with it ever since i put this 4000 plate of valairs in and it finally let loose here is the video i had to let almost all the way out of the throttle before it hooked up n it just wouldnt hold at the end of the track

YouTube - Charlie Reckart: Fayette Truck Pull 10-3-09

Wow!!!! That one sure didn't last long. I was wondering what happened on that run. I heard your engine rev sky high right at the end of the pull. It was cutting in/out the entire way down the track too. My clutch did the same thing to me in August. Peter @ SBC stood behind it 100%. I've heard good things about Valair as well. I'm sure they will do the same if you call them.

yea i no it has 7 or 8 hooks at most i am hoping they will stand behind it as well ive had good luck with the past clutches from them it just never seemed rite from day 1 oh. i called n spoke with kevin the past 2 days n he was suppose to get back to me today to let me no what they are planning on doin about it but no one has returned my call yet really hoping to get this takin care of asap

You gonna make Mcconnellsburg? Getting close bud. I didn't think you had that many hooks on it. I remember when you first installed it, you said that it didn't seem like it was right. That sucks man. Hope Dan comes through for you.

that sucks TJ.

dont get a power parts clutch....

I have terrys weighted dual disk , one of the first and there was a few issues in the beginning with finger length but its good now and for me to slip it I had to take all the weights off and it finally sliped for around 100 ft , I have 2 seasons on it also and still have around 40 ths on shims left

If Dan doesn't stand behind it, I'll be surprised. I've heard that he backs up his products just like Peter does. If not, you should look at getting a SB clutch. When I had a issue, I called & Peter was on the phone right away. He didn't even hesitate to replace my clutch & in time for my next pull. I couldn't be happier with Peters customer service!!!! I'm a SB man for life.:rockwoot:

i ran my 3850CB 27 hooks the last 2 years, went to the IG and its done in 19...

i made 18 other hooks this year, many of them on bad tracks (worse than this track) and its never done that. i've pulled on tracks that i could blow the tires off in my highest gear and its never done anything like that, or had no clutch pedal at the end of the track.

but i guess since you guys were driving the truck and were watching the tach and know how the clutch felt then i'll just leave it at that.

It would be very hard to confuse tire spin for clutch not disengaging guys. I had a clutch freeze up on me like that, it sucks.

Yup, same thing happened to me at the end of the track. Had to shut the truck off just to get it in and out of gear.

look's like the clutch slipped a long way do you get off the pedal really quick, or have to ride it out. i do believe we sent you a replacement today.

No i get off the clutch within 10 ft at the most i has slipped like this since i put it in but saturday nite was the fisrt it slipped at the end of the track. and yea i talked to kevin again today and thats what he said that he was sending me another clutch and i wana thank you again

Yeah Thats is definately clutch slippage in TJs truck. I know the feeling too. Not had great luck with the DD duramax clutches. Hopefully another builder will step up with some soon.

I wish we could have made it out to see you pull TJ. Let me know if you ever need a hand wrenching, or fetching tools haha.
