First post First Gen buildup

Hey. Simple is a good thing. With a good pump/injector combo and the right turbo's you can reach your goal without even doing head work or a cam. You are on the right track. Keep us posted with your progress.

thank you rona very much ill keep it posted after work today ill get some pics up hopefully to show my starting point
thank you all for your input will keep posted

I think it's worth a shot. I have a buddy attempting to make 1000 on a VE, he has plenty of wild ideas and things to try. Very smart guy with lots of experience. Point is most of these guys will doubt you but what if you are that guy who comes along and knocks everyone's dicks in the dirt?:blahblah1:

I would love to see a 1000hp ve motor. Just don't think it's at all possible on fuel only. You could try spraying the heck out of it but don't think that will last long at all. Keeping it a DD is where it gets really hard. I've seen people talking about trying to run dual ve pumps.

That would be awesome to see!!

The dyno graph from a VE pumped, small turbo, nitrous spike looks like the outline of the ogive of a vertically oriented VLD bullet. Not really something to shoot for.

Jason will need the butthurt cream after that one.:soap:

If Jeff Foxworthy was a diesel dyno guy, he's say, "If changing smoothing from zero to 5 drops 500 hp from your dyno graph, you might be a dyno spiker".

im most likely going to switch to the P-Pump but will see what i can come up with. have experience and also engineering experience under my belt so its gonna be and experience will see what the VE has but from everthing i have been able to find like 93-12 and others have said just cant support that rate of fuel. have been looking into possibly duel ve pumps but that is not so likely but fab opitions are on the table so we will see. most likely going to go with the dragon flow P pump from industrial injection is the opition im leaning to but we will see.

Grudge Guy Respect and thats the definition my friends give so ill see what i got up my sleeve not gonna rush the project will make sure she done right the first time and you will always have your adjustments after its all installed so will see what kinda of power we can create.

so far im looking into the realm of and s475 for the high side not sure size of housings yet but from what i have found seems to be quite the reliable

I think this guy is wanting to go alot further than the VE will take him. It's a good pump to tow with and fool around on the street. Save some of the money for those other mods and move on, buy a P7100.

You can build a VE to run decent in competition but, at some point a guy realizes he isn't hitting 2nd and 3rd place (at best) anymore. I made the best of it, but If I had the money years ago I would have put a P7100 on it. It was fun running a VE truck with a S400 single and actually doing fairly well with it, while it lasted.

thank you for the input im decided ill stay with a VE with the stock setup but once i aquire all the parts ill be swapping in a p pump once build starts. starting with basic parts aquisition next couple weeks
60lb valve springs
pushrods
hamilton cam 188/220
Arp 12MM head studs
next will be fuel system

So how many miles on this motor that's going to be subjected to all this abuse? Surely you aren't going to run a manual transmission on a street sleeper.

well the engine has around 328000 but its gettin a full tear down and work up before all this work
mahle pistons upgraded main studs girddle etc

yes i am going to build the nv4500 thats been swapped in it and if need upgrade the south bend thats in it another step even though it should be plenty strong enough to hold whats coming but its all dependent on condition once pulled will most likely be doing the clutch and related components once its out anyways just so its all gravy

Look up slick shift transmissions if you intend in teaching the manual Trans

slick shift ? company specific? googled that keeps giving me old school trans upgrades and even truimph tranny parts hahaha got a company name anything along those lines
much apprciated

What they did to old Mopar trannys could very easily apply to our tranny. Should shave a few tenths

thanks ill look into if at all possible i want to regear tranny give my rpm range a revamp all street/strip not dirt track so little taller gears across tranny will give better range.
