Why would I advise Kyle not to downsize a perfectly good charger??
Well, Purchase a new smaller compressor wheel, Purchase a new smaller compressor housing, Have old used parts to deal with getting rid of, and your still left with the fact the center section pocket is cut for a larger exducer of the original compressor wheel. I wouldnt recommend anyone do that, and more than likely I would be doing the work on hs charger and he would be giving me his money and I still dont advise it.

If he has the opportunity to trade a good charger for a good charger, then I say go for it. It could help someone step into a 66 who's looking to upgrade.

And, yours has been been what for a long time? Downsized? If I follow correctly you took a 66/74 bullet and made it a 62/71 sps. So you took it a step further and had new wheels and new housings on both sides and have an incorrect pocket size? I'm not sure if there is a lot more to the story here, but if not, that probably was the long road to get where your at now.

No, i built myself, I originally had a sps 62 which traded with the guy I worked for, he traded me his 66 comp wheel, housing and center section! I traded him my center, wheel and housing! he grenaded my turbo and I wanted to go back to my 62 so we bought a new wheel and cover and swapped it over with a new bearing of course, so my center has been cut for a 66mm comp wheel but has a 62mm wheel on it, and it has been running strong for about 15,000 miles now! thats all i was saying, but if he can trade thats cool, I was just thinking he could buy a new wheel and cover and then if he wanted to go back with a 66 as a primary he could!! thats all

For the horsepower level he's looking for and the goal he has in mind this swap will get him there.

On a heavily fueled 3rd gen I assume? He'll probably need more fuel, cam, and porting to get that combo going on a vp truck. No?

as far as the cam, i have one on the way

for fuel, i will be running a larger injector than the 6x12s im currently running...most likely 6x16

porting wont be happening any time soon, just had the head off and sent out for orings/valve job/springs, and i dont plan on putting taking it back off this year (im lazy) not to mention i wont have any extra cash to do the porting
