Fuel Mileage

I get 16 to 18 mpg empty with my 2002 6speed 3:55 and 285/75/16. I get 12 mpg hauling 6000lbs - 16000lbs behind the truck it doesn't matter. But my truck DID NOT come with the interaxle disconnect on the front axle.
 
last time i tallied mine up i was averaging 19.3333 and that is mixed city highway with 35s and i belived 373 gears? could be off on that
 
my 96 single cab auto dually 4x4 completely stock gets around 17 in town driving... hand cacluated.. suprised me...
 
Well my first cummins was an 02 RCLB HO with a 6 speed and that truck got 21-22 mpg highway and 17-18 city. I had a fass 150, afe intake, smarty, straight piped and 285 75 R16 tires. I now have an 01 QCLB with a stock automatic with everything done to it as the 02 had with the addition of the quadzilla adrenaline and this truck when i first got it, it got 17-18 mpg hwy and 15 around town but i had 265 75 r16 on it, I now have 35's on the truck and the best i could possibly get out of it is 17mpg hwy and thats really babying it and driving the speed limit. I usually get about 15 mpg hwy and 12-13 around town, not to good compared to my 02!
