G.M. Performance Parts Duramax Diesel Top Dragster final prep for testing .

yes its a LBZ set up , I'll have them in for sale is a week or so, the first 3 are already promased. Dan will be tuning them, I've been working with him on cam testing over the last few months, and his tuning is the best I have seen so far in both the LBZ and the cummins

greg did you go with a lockup glide or just reg glide? i have been looking into the lockup setups but they are a pretty penny.

I do not believe in the lock up glide at this point. With the right convertor you would only lock up in the top of high gear. In the Dr Performance truck I never used a lock up and it worked fine. The additional RPM will make the convertor become closer to one to one. The convertor that Coan has been doing for me has become more efficient every year. Several convertor companies’ build good stuff, but bouncing around makes no progress.
I feel I can run as fast as I want to go with the non-lock up, but the MPH will never be what a clutch or lock up will do. The truth is drag racing in about ET and not MPH anyway.

i agree , et is everything. a lockup glide would be nice for a street car with a diesel that wants to cruise and go fast.

the 4l80 is a good street transmission and is half the price as any of the other diesel transmissions and much stronger with a clean transbrake avalable.

Cool, I will try to come by and chat. I will be there helping my friends dad. He was there last time he had the 1900 Hp motor in the Hamke latemodel Chassis. It is red and looks like it came right off of a circle track.

Al Weiss former Crew Chief of Eddy Hills Top Fuel, and the guy that built my Splayed Valve Chevy V6's for comp spent most of the day finishing this mandrel

Working on it everyday , it just takes time to do it right. I'm not shooting to just make laps, but to compeat and set the record.. was looking for OK city this last weekend , I just am not pushing the safety deal with this kind of car.

Car

I would guess this time next year. MAYBE! 2 months start to finish on mine but it's just a bracket car. Come on Greg this year is just about up. It's not that hard I had a lot of custom stuff also I just did't wait on someone else to make it happen. I can come down and bring a couple of guys and get it done in a few days. It won't be for free. We need more cars out there.

Thanks , but I'm doing this myself . It took me a while to build the Dr performance truck as well, but the results are worth it
I'm shooting for a competive car. Top dragster will require low 7's to high 6's .
G.M. performance Parts wants me to go rounds and be there on Sunday. I've done enough exhibition passes for a lifetime.

hooked the power up tonight , all works as it should . one more thing off the list. started wiring in the new ECM, the harness is sweet. it mounts to the motor plate and has one wire to turn it on and the throttle and a wire to the two step . its the cleanest I have seen. I will have several for anyone that wants them.
