Gassers vs Diesel Pulling?

In my opinion anyone that b!tches about other pullers and classes is annoying!$.02

RWYB, In most cases a 360 ci 6 ix cylinder with a turbo vs 650Ci alcohol motors?????

If they so bad ass they shouldn't *****.

Most of the gas guys are douches, and are mad no one wants to watch their 1978 Eff Twee Fiddy High Boy,with no mufflers, anymore.

They fell behind the times, too bad. They should have listened 10 years ago, and worked with us, instead of cheating us on purses, and hooks.

Now, they are on the outside looking in.

. i for one cant stand watching a million morons with an old ford 460 bounce down the track to 100 feet. but i do need time to go get a burger and a beer!

!

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOLLOLLOLLOL

I coined the term "GASSER TRASH" for a reason, ya know.

A couple guys I see at most the events I go to around here are all getting pissed and will try to put a few hundred dollars up each time theres a gas diesel cahllenge saying theres no way a diesel will win. They usually walk away madder and in disbelief they just lost by 10 fet.

We scare them, plain and simple. We represent the end of them having the only voice in a lot of the pulling associations around the country. They wouldn't be throwing fits if we weren't a threat. Just my $.02

LOL:blahblah1:

I had a pull eariler in the year with a gas vs. diesel open class. I stuck around to pull, just because one of the gasser guys is a real *ss towards diesels. He was in charge of everything that night, which made it worse. His truck is usually one of the top gasser trucks around. He was talking about the sled being heavy, bairly got it going (4 speed, 2nd low, 33" tires 4.88 gears) with his built big block trailer queen. I hooked my truck with a 64mm charger that i drove there, had put 150 miles on that day pulled 2nd HIGH with 3.73's and put 120 feet on his bad truck. I love even more when a gas guy writes the rules or tech's the diesel class.

I will be quite honest im offended by this statement.

If it werent for the efforts of those douches there would be no "DIESEL TRUCK SLED PULLING" because they would still only be pulling tractors. You shouldnt bash those who paved the way for a hobby you believe in.

And as for this statement "Most of the gas guys are douches", please there way more in the diesel world, have we already forgotten TS and Scheid's!

LOL, Jeremy, those clowns were gasser converts!!!!!

The guys who got truck pulling started are long gone.

The only ones left are the ones that fought diesel trucks tooth and nail, and still are.

Just TODAY, I ran into some gas guys screwing with the diesels, locally behind closed doors.

I agree, a major issue is that you don't see (or see very few) current-gen gas trucks out there. It's the same old stuff year after year and I think folks are bored with it...especially when the streetable diesels are making impressive power and they're current and relevant.

I do have to say that the NA vs. turbo thing is relevant, at least to me. A 3" charger TD will flow more than 100 lbs/min, and a 650 cube 9000 rpm motor flows about the same. Give those guys turbos, and they will make us look like chumps. And an NA diesel isn't worth watching either. So yeah there probably always will be a chip on the shoulder of the gassers because 90% are stuck with NA. And they have to spend thousands of dollars to get 1% more airflow. Having FI would change their world dramatically.

It's funny though, in talking to one of the local promoters, they say many fair boards want a "noise class" so they will always be around.

Personally I would love to see more of the "8000 Open" classes that they run in Ohio. 8000# and 26" hitch. That's cool.

I am all for giving the gasser trash turbos- they have to trade in their 460 for a 300 six, though, lmao!!!

The reason we have turbos, is they came from the factory with turbos. Now, if they want turbos on 650 engines, then we get to put the mighty JD green engines in to get the cubes more fair.

Chump that.

I Used to have a gas puller who spends 10's of thousands on his motor alone always screw with me. Saying why don't you pull that big bad diesel against us. Granted I am to high in the air and **** like I have that much tied up in it lol. Though Jeremy can come up and play with them. See if you can pull against the Nichelson crowd next time your up this way Jeremy. Just the attitude I got and I don't even pull. Though they did get the sport started.

What really set them off in this area, was they did everything they could to "fake" being a street truck. We came in with a set of towing twins with no hanging weights(6800 open street) and waxed them.
Bad.
And then drove home, at 20 MPG.

The local group banned stock diesels from 6200 street, scared em half to death. That class made guys take the A/C pump off, if it wasn't operational. Tell me that isn't a group of douchebags?

Sad thing is, a reg cab Cummins whipped them with an HX35 and the A/C turned ON, it was warm that day!!LOLLOL

I think you would be surprised in what some of the top pullers have in their engines. I mean you can't touch a 13mm Ppump for less than $3500.

Get that mighty JD green engine across the scales at 8,000LB... Not happening!
