Gearing

I think I paid $600 for front and rear, to get my lockers installed. I have since got the bearing pullers, and made some setup bearings. I don't know anyone around here to set them up around here.
 
Do I do all of the welding with everything in place and installed? I have to pull it apart anyway to swap the ring and pinion.
 
i need to make some set-up bearings and learn how to set up gears...i wanna regear my truck but if i were to get one of the shops around here to set front and rear up I would be in the poor house on labor charges.

it would probably cost me about $2000 to switch to 4.88's and thats with out the spool and axle upgrades for the dana 80
 
Yukon has a decent bear puller set that doesn't destory the bearings. It doesn't work on the D80 pinion though. I do not like setting up gears in the d80 I will say that. I had all sorts of fits setting the locker up in the other axle I have. I couldn't get the backlash set right I basically had to shave the case saver to get it setup right.
