Hamilton 12v Head

No I actually think 2.6 is too far outta hand an aftemarket heads and blocks should not be allowed. I have been on the anti 2.6 progression side for awhile. But people kept saying Pullin is expensive and a luxury so step up or go home. Now that has all settled down and here is a product that will help everybody from stock replacement to performance and now it's whoa that's to much never mind the other fifty plus grand in the truck. Seems to me people that already payed big money to work over a stock head are afraid of some competition!

It's all about the gray areas. The point it's at now, he'll yes let em run the Indy head or Hamilton. It's a luxury, nut up or stay home. Lol

The ppl 2.6 rules read "stock appearing" , which in my opinion is open to interpretation.

In many other facets stock appearing mean the casting has to have "ALL" the same dimensions. Many of the rules call out and say cutoff intakes are allowed.

So rules that read stock appearing, the Hamilton head wouldn't fit. Of course it could be modified so most would have to really look to be able to see the differences!

I don't think anything that added power to 2.6 should have been allowed, water to air etc.

As I said earlier take a 2.6 bushed billet HX60 and a 2.6 billet protrusion HX60 and which one makes less power? Both are within a couple hundred dollars of each other.

That worked out so well for them and Haisley with the deck plates didnt it

Yeah that didn't go so well.

What about that Alabama cylinder heads? Are they stock cummins or aftermarket? What about the duramaxs, are all the socal and dts heads modified stockers? I am assuming they are. Just curious

To my knowledge they are a identical to the cummins factory head. Im not sure on the Dmax heads

I have been looking and didnt find any, what pulling leagues do not allow deck plates? I just checked PPL and BOB and there is no mention in either about it.

So a $400 Chinkanese aftermarket head that is manufatured and sold as a direct replacement should be illegal?

Dang, Treed. Should refresh page before posting.

Do you call Zach's product a Chinkanese aftermarket head also? Or are you soley slandering Alabama Cylinder Head?

So by milling the OEM head down & filling it full of alum. raising the roof 1" it should still qualify as OEM??

No, just the ones that have such bad core shift that some of the bolt bosses collapse when the headbolts are torqued, and the ones that have valve springs that give up after 4 hours resulting in a junk block.

I've used Alabama heads and have no problem with them.

Well if both are cast in China, you therefore have no issue with them being Chinkanese, you only have issue with poor quality.

You are correct, I never did have a problem with them. I merely used the term "Chinkanese" to imply the cheapest of the cheap, assuming that the cost of a Hamilton head is a consideration when rules are written.

I'd imagine if Hamilton heads were $400 most clubs would allow them.
