Hamilton 12v Head

Ok, so most of the problem with allowing the Hamilton head is the fact that is opens up the possibility of having to allow other aftermarket heads/blocks, all of which are only offered in billet or aluminum currently(for the cummins). Why not just make the rules read that the blocks and head must be oem production form. Cummins- cast iron, duramax- aluminum... and so on....
I guess this would play to the favor of the dmax crowd if someone wanted to (or maybe they already have) build an aftermarket alum head. I don't know just thinking out loud.

The other point is this: cost keeps getting brought up. WHAT DOES IT MATTER? We've already decided that this is a luxury sport. Not for the faint of pocket books. So its ok to spend 2k on pistons, 4-5k on a turbo, etc etc etc, but now that there are options on aftermarket cylinder heads, now we must draw the line.....doesn't make since to me. Its pulling, the one with the most money wins right?......

It is the way it is in many motor sports. OEM appearing(can have all the guts changed inside though LOL). The lower level classes have the most restrictions on the parts that are used. Move up classes, get more freedom to use more parts. Just like the driveline stuff. 2.6 OEM appearing driveline, etc, etc.
3.0 stock frame, open driveline
Mod Open checkbook. LOL

I mean if your gonna allow aftermarket heads, why say they have to be cast?
If the 3.0 guys shot down the aftermarket block and heads would it make sense to allow them in the 2.6 class?

I agree to the fact that the 3.0 guys shot them down then why allow in 2.6. BUT, here in IL where they turned them down......most (not all) but most of the trucks come from one shop....we all know which one, and my guess is those trucks all have big money in a stocker and they don't want to have to upgrade to stay competitive... just saying (I really hate that saying, but it fits here)

i don't really care either way... but if Alabama Cylinder Head heads are legal then hamiltons head should be also because they are both aftermarket.

i agree, its only fair. other wise they should state...

"must be oem apearing cylinder head, some aftermarket heads aloud, EXEPT anything made by Zach Hamilton"
