Hazelwood,IN Truck Pulls

I ended up 4th in Street stock 2.8 class. I should've kept my first hook but dropped it, my second hook was 2ft shorter. First hook was 301.?? and second was 299.??. I just did'nt think 301 was gonna cut it so I dropped it. Regardless I couldn't have beat the top 3 either way and the choice didn't make a difference in how I placed.

I believe the top 4 are as follows

1. Scott from S&R diesel 12v
2. The white ITK diesel CR dodge
3. Matt Gainer Duramax
4. Me Duramax

There was some good trucks there and was a great time. But slightly muddy in the pits, but the track was great in my opinion.

1st was ric scrimiger (spelling)?
2nd was mike schinlaub (down and dirty farmer)
3rd may have been terry coppess

joel reece broke,
we made our 1st pass on the new motor but the pass side axle wouldnt lock in so we 3 wheeled it.

it's a 95 dodge, we pulled 2.5 with it last year.
were going to pull wide open in ky mainly
but needed a test hook so we came up to pull itpa with terry and crew.
still need to work some bugs out, but it made a decent first pass

Yes, it was a good pull and a good time. The white NDK Common rail in the 2.8class sounded awesome, he will be a force this year for sure! JNeal had a great looking hook and so did Matt and the new tuning seemed to workout for him but the stock motor is on borrowed time... Jon broke another rear axle and might have tore up the front diff as well but had a great hook in Clay City with a second place finish behind Terry Coppess. Congrats to all that hooked!

so what was the fuss with tech

i got teched before the pull and everything was fine...then after i pulled someone or someones complained saying i was illegal. they first said i ran twin turbos but in the end the overall fuss was about dual fuelers. a week before the pull though we called and asked if they were legal and they said yes. then on friday night we asked again after it was rained out to make sure and they said it was fine i was legal. then things changed on sat. night after i happened to win. we got everything squared away though and everything is good. it was an awesome pull and i enjoyed it very much. we just had to iron out a couple of things thats all.

How is it that dual fuelers is legal in Workstock? Thats like sending Mike Tyson to beatup a 8 year old. You have a nice truck and I respect all you've done but.... Workstock should be that workstock. You have spent a ton of money to STOMP a entry level puller. Move up a class and you'll still be at the top of the class. Let the workstock guys have some fun on a level playing field. If not they will get frustrated and stop pullin'.
P.S. I don't own a truck but make alot of pulls and hear alot of people talk.

i tend to agree dual cp3s is kinda an extensive mod for work stock class

I see where your coming from but these days there really is no stock trucks out there pullin unless someone just wants to see what it can do. You pretty much have to build a motor for every class around here anyways. I'm currently building a motor to run in 2.6 class. I know different rulez for different organizations but general rule of thumb for workstock around here is "build it stock appearing". watching trucks run on chips and injectors alone gets lame real quick. so save your money and build it like the rest of us and stop complaining. also wouldn't entry level be street stock anyways?

Street stock started as a entry level. Its not anymore. Most SS truck don't get driven on the street. Work stock is the new entry level class. You need to give a guy a chance to get his feet wet on a level playground. Most SS truck have over 40k invested. A highschool kid can not stand a chance in SS. Beat him up, run him off, then see the sport die. I am not complaining, hell I don't have a truck. It does not affect me. I just like truck pulls. Did you start pullin' on top? Would you still be pullin' if you got you @$$ handed to you by a bully with a 40k+ truck?

Didnt bother me when I got beat. This just comes back to "you got to pay to play" ideal. Pulling is an expensive sport, heck I cant even afford to do it. But to each his own. if a guy with a chip and injectors goes out there and expects to win, its never going to happen, and they need to realize that. I dont think duel fuelers are not work stock, Ive seen them on Daily driven tow rigs with a stock turbo. Guess that just means that so and so can build a better motor and get everything dailed in.

the whole situation would have been different if we wouldnt have called and asked a week before the event if we were legal and also if we wouldnt have asked the night before too. both times the head guy said we were LEGAL to run as is. then after i won it was a totally different.

I agree with what has been told, but it isn't gainers fault. His truck met the rules, the promoters should have had the rules differently for work stock.

True, the rules need to be clearer and the tech guy better trained. I am sure this will come to pass in the next year. Everyone pushes the limits, thats how it has always been.
