cutting housings isn't a simple little operation. most machine shops are going to ding you a fair amount to do it right
The HE351 is actually a 60/58/9.
The body of my HE351, HE341, and HX35 all appear identical, which leads me to believe the shafts are the same size. It also makes me wonder what it would take to get the 12 cm exhaust housing off of my HX and make it work on my 351.......
would it be worth sacrificing the true 4" exhaust outlet?
Forrest Nearing said:I'm sure they'll make you a custom housing... just ship them your turbo and hand over $1,000 or so, and you'll be in business!
Does the oil drain have to be modded for the HE351?
Also, will an HX40 downpipe work, or do you have to buy a 3rd gen downpipe and mod it?
I thought about doing this on my truck. Only because i like to pull every now and then, and the way the work stock rules are, puts me in the 2.6 class around here with my 58/65/16 HX40 . Im perfectly happy with my HX40 other than that though. I like the 16cm exhaust housing and 4 inch outlet. Seems to breathe pretty well on top compared to my 16cm HX35 housing did.
The HE351 would let me pull work stock. Im not a fan of the 9cm housing and all the intercooler replumbing that has to be done to run one though.
