the return line on the back of the head is a PITA!
No ****. That is the single biggest pain in the ass on this truck. Putting it back on at least.
I got my full gasket set from pdp.

I took my hood off for the re-installation and threw a tow strap over the rafters of my garage and ran it through the grab hooks on the head while someone supported the weight i ligned it up. And I took the turbo and the exhaust manifold off as 1 piece. Not sure if anyone els does that but it saved me some time. Those bolts holding it on are a pain to break loose. A big fold out table will help so you can lay out all the parts in exact order. rocker arms, bridges, rods, and injectors.
One of the best kept secrets. Mumau Diesel will get ya slicked up for all your Cummins needs. At GREAT prices and GREAT service too.:Cheer:thanks for pointing me in the right direction and thanks to Jeff at MUMAU

Whats the TQ spec for the rocker arm bolts? And do I need to reset valve lash, or can I just bolt everything back on and go.
if i recall correctly the rocker arm bolts are 89 inch/lbs...the injector hold downs are 18 ft/lbs
spec on the rocker arm bolts are 27 ft-lb
u should technically check the valve lash anytime u have the rockers off but when i did my first retorque yesterday, i didnt feel like messing with it. it runs very smooth still after setting the lash the first time. however after my last retorque, i will check the valve lash again.
injector hold down is 89 in-lbs
