headgasket? or motor swap?

Fix the timing and the lash. run it until it dies and don't worry about it. If timing it with a protractor worked people would be eeeewing and aaahhing like they do for people that make stock headboolts work. it may run 10 miles or 10,000.

If you put a 24v headgasket on your truck it's good for more than 500hp if you use the thick ones

My buddy has a 98 12 valve, 220,000 miles 4k gsk, injectors, trans, pump work etc and 55 psi through the original hx-35 every day, never had the head off! Some people are lucky I guess...

Wel my buddies buddies pullin truck has a 12v with a chip so he can adjust the timing on the fly

im just gunna pull this motor and swap it out with a less mileage motor.

anybody pull a motor without commpletely dropping the tranny?

How old are you?

Just some advice. Use the search button at the top of the page before starting any more projects on your truck with out proffessional supervision. I just get the gut feeling this truck is going to be up forsale with 2 engines in the bed if you keep doing things yourself with out learning how to work on it first and stop listening to the moron kid down the street,$.02. Sorry to be blunt but it will save you in the long run

I totally agree!

I really dont think he has a clue what he is doing.

Just drop the damn tranny. Its not that difficult and makes things easier.

when i screw up i dont give you dildo. i find things out on my own, i dont have to have somebody holding my hand the whole time i do something. im sure everybody has screwed up something on there trucks once or twice. oh well! thats why their are more parts out there.

Im just saying had you done some research "ahead" of time you wouldnt be in this situation. Before i do something ive never done before i find out as much info on the job at hand before jumping head first into and screwing up more then had i known what i was doing by doing a little reading.

Yeah but nothing that damn serious... Just like everyone has stated already, its called research. Ask questions before you do something that your not 100% sure on how to do it. Its common sense!! Who cares if someone is holding your hand, we've all been there and theres a lot of us that is still learning something new every day.

Just dont screw up your other motor if you dont know what your doing. Post a question on here or google it. We will try to help you out as much as we can.
