Granted, west coast pulling isn't at the level that eastern pullers are at.

I'm sure he can get you going on the right track. The cr in a first gen sounds like a win to me. Don't hesitate to contact rockjeep73 here on comp d. He's in the sacramento area and can get you set up with traction bars, driveline loops, etc.
