I recently p pumped my 24v. The pump is a 215 with laser cuts, ag holders, 0 plate, and 5k springs. I want to see if anyone can help me adjust my springs so it is a little more street friendly. Its unbearable right now! Im pretty sure the springs are from CDS. I hear people run these on the street with some adjusting but im not sure how to adjust them or what the specs are.

I was planning to use my truck to pull with but due to money didnt get a chance to try this setup this year. Im really just trying to get it to where I can drive it around a little and work the bugs out of the truck. Thanks

I think they are suppose to be 3 clicks past the soft click. double check the spring heights and make sure they're even too

I backed them off 2 clicks tonite. Not really any better or worse. I checked stud protrusion and they were the same. Not really sure what else to do.

And by the way...... I had one heck of a time tellin the clicks. The first click was hard to go and the next one was hard to even tell id it clicked.

what shims are under the springs? wide bottom shim? thin idle shim?

Ive never had the springs out so i have no clue what shims it has. I bought the pump as is. Ive never really gotten into how these pumps work. Ive read a good bit dont have any hands on experience with them.

pull the springs all the way off, check and see if there are any shims under them, pencil magnet works best. put them back in, 3 clicks total including the soft click

Maybe it has something to do with my timing? Ive only had it set at 20 and 26 degrees. At 20 i couldnt get it to rev above about 1500 but when i moved it to 26 i had good throttle response and it reved to its max potential.

What do you use to turn the retainer off? I used needle nose pliers tonight. I couldnt get it to turn with a screw driver!

Oh and if there are springs under the springs what should i be looking for. How many are there typically?

big screw driver with a cut in the end works best, if the pump was put together correct, it will have no shims, but its a good baseline to check.

And am i supposed to pull the big outer spring out too? A quick pac brake search says that he outer spring is shimmed. Im thinking since these are 5k's the outer spring is different than stock?

And could it have something to do with the afc? I dont have a boost line hooked up and the previous owner ran it that way. I think what I really need is someone to look at it in person haha

Hook up your afc and tune it and you should be easily streetable. It may still be touchy but with some practice you can learn to drive a really touchy pump.

Lol and i thought my dragonflow vp was touchy with an edge stacked with smarty and 7x16's hahahha

There is no reason i couldnt drill and tap my intake elbow and run my boost line thru a rubber hose is there? Thanks everyone. Ur all a great help!
