come on mikey lol what part of ford ever came out with a p pump? it may have the 8 cylinder p pump on it now but i remember it did at one time have 2 4 cylinder p pumps on it and that sure sounds like a cummins part to me.
The pump is from a larger v8 international. Double Overtime is all Powerstroke international.
It's just a taste of what you Cummings guys would have to put up with if they would have produced the 7.3L with the P-pump or common rail. wned:
i'm very skeptical of that write up on cale.. i saw the pics of the aftermath with the blown motor and all, but come on look at what his equipment was :
a single turbo, and not a very big one at that will in NO WAY make 900HP w/out nitrous, NOR will it make 100psi of boost pressure as was stated ..
unless there was a second turbo that was not shown i don't buy it.

garantee he spent 2x the money it would take to get a CUMMINS at that level since he had to custom make just about everything on that motor and he is still not the top dog, yes he competes very very very well but we all know who is on top. CUMMINS wned:
Considering Double OT has a factory block and modified stock heads and crank I would say it is more factory than the Cummins engines it pulls against, what do they run that was once factory?? Maybe the block?
And considering that it's a lone Powerstroke versus a field of Cummins, I'd say it's doing exceptionally well. This is his, what, 2nd season? Versus trucks that have had years to get their setups right. The next 2 years will be interesting for both the Ford and Chevy camps in the Mod class. :Cheer:

Sorry to bust your bubble but i talked to the builder once. It has a custom $10,000 girdle, billet custom crank and rods, grout filled block and one-off custom billet heads. only stock part is the block in the entire engine.
thats what i thought i read in that diesel power mag write up about him just couldnt remeber.
and if you ask me that 7.3 is not giving us a taste of what powerstroke can do with a pump more like you are seeing what a cummins engine can do with a v8 and some more liters :shake:
the write up i saw on that truck it was awhile ago but it had twin p pumps from cummins engines. but that was awhile ago.
i probably read p pump and stoped reading. but i beleive you but missed read in the mag.FYI
Read the DP mag Feb 2008 issue. Page 166.
reads like this
Bosch P-pump styled injection system, using a Scheid-built "V-Pump" off of a 700-cubic inch International engine.
why cant a powerstroke? and there are plenty of cummins doing what he dos look in his bracket. hes just out on top 4 now.then why cant a cummins do what he does ? thats what i thought.
the entire fuel system on it is custom so i dont think its fair to call it a powerstroke. and plus the fuel system is based off of another models fuel system and the fuel system is whats making all the power so i would say that thing is more a cummins engine then a power stroke but thats just my thoughts on it. i could be wrong on any of the things ive said i just like to stir the pot
