Hotpipe material

I hate to drag this out of the weeds but I need answers.

What is the drawback to using 3" exhaust tubing if you properly anealed the welds, Jet Hot coat, header wrap, and supported the primary?

Only ask because this would be far easier for what Im doing than the sch 40.

It's only got a few passes, but that's how we did it on my last twins set. Also, my 62-S480 setup was 4" exhaust pipe. As long as it's not supporting any weight, you should be fine.

how big is your twin kit roachie?

Using an HX35 with a ported internal wastegate over an S475 with a 1.10 housing.

This is going in my Ford so the space it tight and regular exhaust pipe would be way easier to work with.

I plan on sch 80 on the Dodge though:rockwoot:

If you look around, you can find 14 gauge exhaust pipe instead of the lighter duty 16 gauge. I don't know if I would spend the extra $$$ to buy heavy gauge exhaust pipe.

I did end up using 3" schedule 40, used 3 off the shelf 90's cut to fit. Since this was brought back to the top, thought I'd post a pic. It's the only picture I have on this computer, a not very good cell phone pic.
