I F'n Window'd The Block on the Interceptor!!

Well Fella's!!!

The Interceptor is Hurt and Hurt BAD!!!!
I guess that Antifreeze in the motor from the blown freeze plug inside the head did some real damage inside....

I've worked So freakin hard the last week and spent some damn money trying to get this thing back up and running.....Did all the flushing of the motor to get the Glycol out of the motor....Went down today to do one more drain and fill....3 brand new gallons of Schaefer's 7000 and a while bottle of F1 ZDDP.....

After we got Jeff's new creation "The Jummins" running and took it for a ride, I started home and was looking forward to the race this weekend....
I had just got on to I-75 headed north when some dude in a gasser Hemi Dodge was riding my tail.....I matted it and did a roll on from about 70mph......It rolled on up to almost 100 pretty quick (still felt down on power btw) and then all the Sudden.......BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could see metal parts bouncing off the roadway behind me....White smoke pouring out!!

Pulled to the side........I didn't even want to look at it......I just called for a wrecker........Had it towed back to Jeff's ($125) !!!

Finally got the never to look under the truck......I've got 2 holes in my oil pan with a piece of a piston or rod sticking out of it......THEN I saw the ROD sticking out of the drivers side of the Block!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice little Window where I can look right in and see the Cam and Tappet !!!!!!!!

ALL that Work and money !!!! Gone!!! F me!!!!!


Ummm! I'm not 100% sure yet guys, but I may be DONE with this chit for a while!! Considering Parting out the Motor and all my performance parts....

-MPI twins Htt 62/71/13ss Polished Over S480 w/race cover....Silver Piping!!
-PPE Dual Cp3 kit (Dmax pump)
-Floor It Stg. 2
-F1 Flux 3.8 Injectors ( maybe just the tips if I get stock ones back )
-CR head that's been O-ring'd and has Oversized valve seats and JUST had the freeze plugs tapped and threaded with a pipe plug.
-Hamilton Valve Springs
-Hamilton Billet push tubes
-Smarty with TNT/R and also has POD
-F1 Billet Steel H2 Cam (Will have to see if it's damaged or not) + Processed -Tappets
-ARP 625 studs...( JUST instaled last weekent )

There may be other stuff I can't think of right now but If anyone is interested in making an offer on any of this stuff, just post up and I'll let you know soon as to what I'm gonna do......


I'm just Sick right now!!

I took a few pics with my Iphone but not sure if you'll be able to see the rod sticking out, cam window, and oil pan holes......I emailed them to Ty....He may post them for me....

More to come when I get a better look at things........

Sorry David! I bet jeff would help you out on another block, maybe grab some custom rods and do a strong bottom end build? I know your sick to your stomach, real sorry it happened!

Wow. Sorry to hear about that man. That really sucks. I was really hoping to see you get this thing back up and running at peak power. Maybe your power loss was caused by something going wrong in the bottom end and it just finally gave up?
 
Man that really sucks! I have been following your posts through good and bad. I can only imagine the frustration, much less the friggin $$$$ lost. Really sorry to hear it.

Awww man,, I feel for you,, that sucks,, and I know exactly how you feel! I just did my block 2 weekends ago... hole on either side of the block and the oilpan. My advice to you is,, dont go off and make any rash decisions, let everything sit for a bit, start taking the engine apart see what caused the event. Then figure where to go from there... take that for what its worth

It just stings a bit right now and I'm just ticked......

I may or may not get out of it....It was just my first thought after all these little nagging issues and then This!!

I'll give it a few days to set in and then will make a decision ....

Not gonna sell the truck even if I do sell the parts....I'd be lookin to buy a used CR with just plain ol STOCK parts / turbo / etc........Use the Interceptor as my Tow rig for what ever I do later on....Maybe a 12V or something....Been looking for one anyway...

It's just that we just bought a new house and with all the money I've spent on this thing, I just can't afford to spend another dime right now and for a while....

Like I said, Thank you Guys Big time for the support!!! I love the sport and will ALWAYS be at the races when I can regardless of my trucks status...
