I F'n Window'd The Block on the Interceptor!!

Oh no!!!! this sure wasn't what I wanted to see.

Didn't feel real good about the chances of the bottom end being ok after the washout.

I'm about 99% positive it was from the coolant in the oil, rather than a bent rod, with your compression as low as it is, you would have had a cold miss big time.


What you're looking for is a "good core" engine from a wrecker, sell the head, pump, injectors, anything you don't need, and you pretty much have a free block, crank and pistons.

I used 12v rods im my motor been down to 11.2 on spray and comp tested the motor and its as good as the day it was built so there not bent yet i think they take alot more then CR rods
 
Damn Dave that really sucks. Just saw the news this morning before I got in the shower, honest to God I thought I would have to call in sick today. Like you said, all the time and money you put in this thing only to have this happen, thats what kills me. Anyway, I hope you decide to keep her, it wouldn't be the same around here without reading about the Interceptor. Hang in there buddy, things can only get better from this point...

This cracked me up LOL... I know what you mean though. I felt the same way when Dave called me about it. We both literally worked from 5 in the evening Friday night to 6am on Saturday morning getting our trucks back together. Both of us had been up for 24hrs wanting to finish what we started. I even drove his truck home for him and it was running great. Guess there was no way of knowing this was gonna happen and man does it suck that it did !
 
Sh!t Swole, I'm really sorry to hear this man. Like everyone else says, step back for a bit before you make any rash moves, I don't ever wait and I'm always sorry. You have got a heck of a support team there, you will be back and even badder. Hang in there man.
 
Sorry to here about your loss. Can the hole in the block be patched? Maybe you could have the hole braised up if the cylinders are not damaged.

Only those that have been there can really feel your pain.
When mine went I just shrugged my shoulders and started a new build plan. Hopefully you'll do the same after sleeping on it.
You don't have anybody to impress...if it takes a year or more then so be it...just build it back better than before.
Trust me...it's worth it.
 
Hate to hear this. I was so aggrovated about my rear end being shot again last night. I cant imagine how i would have been if i had that kind of $$ into a motor and it threw a rod.
