I know when you ran a compreshion test one of the cylinders was down a little but within spec, does it happen to be the same cylinder that let loose?
Oh no!!!! this sure wasn't what I wanted to see.
Didn't feel real good about the chances of the bottom end being ok after the washout.
I'm about 99% positive it was from the coolant in the oil, rather than a bent rod, with your compression as low as it is, you would have had a cold miss big time.
What you're looking for is a "good core" engine from a wrecker, sell the head, pump, injectors, anything you don't need, and you pretty much have a free block, crank and pistons.
Good luck, been there,
Sorry to here about your loss. Can the hole in the block be patched? Maybe you could have the hole braised up if the cylinders are not damaged.
Good Lord David! I feel for bad for you!! I thought my truck was bad about shat happening at all the wrong times.
Have you put any thought to just buying a 12v to be a dedicated race truck?
Guess Obama had it out for you! LOL
Sorry about the engine!
Not from what little I could see last night in the dark with a flashlite...
It's gotta pretty dang big hole in it...I can see at least 3-4 inches of the cam and a tappet hanging down....Then another crack a few more inches back from that hole......Then the rods hanging out the area in front of the window where the cam can be seen....
Block is HISTORY!!!
That sucks man. I'm so sorry to hear that.
Take some time, and then tear into it. You've already dug a big enough money pit, even if you sell everything you'll still have a hole worthy of a GA tourist attraction.
Just bought a house, eh? Think of it this way: you now have the start to a really expensive designer coffee table. :hehe:
Ride to the events in the GF's D-Max and while she's racing you can be the official bouncer for the Comp D command center. It has its benefits... :Cheer:
Hey... What did the gasser behind you do?
I think we can let him be famous for something else. Dave at least got his truck out on the road before remodeling the bottom end. oke:LOL
step away from it for a bit... throw a stock CR pullout engine in it to get it running and find you something cheap to go crazy with later
Sorry to hear this, ya know this is so common with the power strokes they have a thread over there tracking serial numbers.
Keep your dream alive, for everyone that builds a truck, there's at least thousand guys running stock trucks and wanting to live your dream.
I can't believe I'm posting in the Dodge section :hehe:
Dude i feel so sorry for you ..You have worked your ass off getting that thing fixed..I looked at your truck this moring when i got to work and was like holly chit..I've never seen anything like that..Sorry again dude...
