I F'n Window'd The Block on the Interceptor!!

There is a CL ad in St. Louis with a guy parting out an 08 with a 6.7.... hint hint ;)
 
Wow, that is absolutely awful to hear. I was hoping to get some shots of your truck at the NHRDA race, guess Ty can have the trailer now though huh? LOL

As far as what to do, with everything that you've put into it, I'd stick with a common rail. I mean, the problems you've had, weren't really common rail/electronics related. If this bent rod is what the cause of it all was, that could happen on any of them, just not quite so catastrophic. Go back with treated and peened 12 valve rods, I know Jeff has some around the shop or can get his hands on some. :rockwoot:
 
It's cool your keepin your head up and all the comp d guys are showin lots of support. I've had a frustrating year with mine but no where close to what your dealing with now. I'd be Phukkkkin pissed. Its cool to see you where laughin when we talked, that means that your spirits arn't down and your optimistic about another build. Hang in there man. My offer still stands!

LOL Yeah , Ty's got dibbs on the trailer now!!!

Yeah, sounds like the 12, 24vp rods (peened and treated) are the way to go....That will be a definate if/when I can get it back together....

I'm late to the plate...I know how ya feel 'cept in my case it was a gas motor...all that work and then ...it sucks big time. I do think the anti-freeze had a big role in this...it's very hard to get that crap out of tight areas without really cleaning.

I agree with an earlier post that this shoulda started with "prayers needed''

Well Swole, my simpathies are with ya...not a good time for the money tree to shrink.

I'm almost thinking of selling my car to create a money tree and building up a 4x4 version of mine 'cept with better turbos and bigger stix.

Next time you see Ty, tell him I said to take care of ya.
 
Hey Swole.. whats this about the rods... I'm kinda starting to build a second motor... Should I use different rods...? which ones..?

I feel for you brother, Don't sell your parts, I am sure that Garmon guy can get you fixed up with something. If you get rid of it you will regret it. and just have to buy the stuff again. I am anxious to see what Jeff thinks was the real cause of it was I am kind of nervous about my stock rods now. I am thinking that the coolant was the cause.

Damn Daved, I was hoping to see you up and running, man I am sorry. Take some time to let Jeff see how bad it's going to be, think about it, drink some beer, and then decide. I agree with Kyle put a 12V in her. Brother if you need anything let me know.

Swole, this may very well be the greatest outpouring of love over a busted engine I have ever seen in my days on the internets.

If you quit..... You will have at least 100 posters who will call you a quitter.

I have seen shorter threads on this board over dead dogs man.

This is very true Tim! I want Everyone to know that I appreciate this WAY more than you know!!!!

I'm leaning toward a re-build over some time.... It may take a good while to build it right with the funds being tight, but for now I think Im gonna look for a running used 05 motor and just stick it in there stock so I at least have the use of the truck..

Then after I can complete a build, the high hp will go back in.

Its all good. I just appreciate you guys Big Time for all the advice and shared knowledge!! Everyone has really helped me over my 2+ yrs here at CompD.
