Injectors??? Turbo????

i think your going to need a billet input shaft really you might not but it would be a good idea to have, i would do a 64 its a great turbo and still can keep up with the 66 power but spools alot better the 62 i think your get tired of it. I think that the 62 is too small for what you like and there is not a big diff from a 62 to a 64 on spool. Dont do jammer 5's hell i had that set for you for 200 remember you DIDN'T want them.

My cryo'd input will be fine im sure, also i guess you didnt see my sarcasm with the jammer 5s. Yes def. gonna go with a 64 now. What size 64 should i get?

there are alot of nice used ones on here or do you want a new set of them, and it might be your truck is alot less weight than roberts was but his cryo'd didn't last but he also had a triple dics, so there is more weight on the shaft than what yours is. I know my single dics from all star didnt last but that was in a 12v with a few more horses than yours:shake: but glad to hear your truck is doing good o and pm sent to ya

Tim I see no problem running a 64 and 200's. It won't be as clean or cool as a 66 but it should still run just fine. Definitely don't want a 62 and 200's. Been there, done that, don't know why people think that's a good combo. A 64 seems to be one of those turbos where a 180 injector would be good for it.

we ran mach 6.5's and a 62 forever and it was cleaner than I expected. The 62 won't get you into the 12's in a 2wd. Even with a fully ported head we ran out of charger with the 62 but could still tow anything. If he had a triple disc I would recommend the 200's and 64 but a single sucks towing IMHO.

I disagree! I think a 62 can make serious power with a VP truck (depending on turbine wheel/housing), I just don't think vp's make the rpms to really push much bigger, I am saying with a 150-200hp injector i believe the combo will be a hell of a lot better!

Oh and 8.7 in 1/8th comes around to a 13.4X in the 1/4!

I ran a 66/71 and hated it, so I went back to my old 62/71 and Love it, the injectors I running now are somewhere between 150-200 but i have a set of DDP 200's on the shelf, I cleaning these now up by 2500rpms and 52ish psi! I think it's all a matter of opinion and what you like and are looking for, i do think I would like a 64, but I just cant bring myself to sell the 62

See the 62/65/12 and 62/71/13ss I had were good turbos but wouldn't even come close to cleaning up my 7x12's or the 11 holes I used to run (these I understand why they wouldn't clean up). And both ran very hot with them. The 66/71/13ss I run now actually drives nicer than my 62/71/13ss and cleans up the injectors with no problem. At least on the VP it did. P-pump, not so much.

Now the 62's I ran with a 150hp injector was a great combo. Clean, cool, easy to drive. I ran the 62/71/13ss with 150's before and after the cam and with 200's after the cam. The 66 has only had the cam and 200's in it.

Tyler, who were your wider array of turbos by lol? I'll agree with you though because I've experienced similar things. I know mine is a CR but, I ran Industrial's Silver 62 (62/74/14) for about a year and loved it. My only problem is once I added the injectors it was getting a little warm for me and I wanted to upgrade. Engineered Diesel built my current 66 (66/74/14) and it did EVERYTHING I asked for. It cooled it but surprisingly enough, it spooled the same as my 62 not changing anything other than the turbo.

Ok honestly i dont tow much but i would like the truck to be versatile. Im thinking a 64 with 200s from what i hear that setup is great.

yea you got to think clay how much do you really tow with your truck like you said not much so you can go bigger heck when i had that k31 on my 06 i could tow just not in over drive:hehe: and that was just our 22 foot boat

Thatd be about the only way to do it cause 200's and an HY are not good. Hell rv275's and a comp with an HY35 would peg the EGT gauge.

Augustus, the 62/65/12 was an II turbo and the rest are HTT. I used to run an old ksb-1 as well. Dang I miss that turbo.

I have a bad habit of getting bored and changing stuff plus I was trying different things to help my power out. Failed at that one. LOL
