Injectors vs. 64/71/14

.078 with no filter in them. Smokem recommends them on any injector over 200hp.
 
You have any timing added??

Here is what I've tried so far.

Adrenaline 4k box fuel stretch 2200, timing 10* [PL 05, PL08, PL10]

Then I tried fuel stretch 1800, timing 10* [PL07, PL08, PL10]

Then I added Smarty sw4 & it woke the truck up.
 
Take all the timing off it and see what it does.. When I flat foot my truck it studders like that. But when i dont run anything but the redline it is real smooth...

I'll play with setting more tomorrow after work & let you know. I also have a very aggressive tune in it right now. I might try the 70% 4k tune in the other box.
 
Give me a call tomarrow night. It will studder like that because that injector needs that much fuel..
 
Alright, got the injectors in, valvecover on & took it for a short test drive. I think the stock connector tubes aren't enough to flow the fuel to these big azz injectors. If I punch it, it stumbles, then revs out. They are very smokey cruising around and egts are not nearly as bad as I thought they would be. I noticed that the engine sounds very different, but still very smooth. There is no way to control the smoke with the box on, but without the box, I can drive it with only a light haze. Cruising on flat ground at 55mph, I saw 673* average over a 3 mile stretch. Here is a readout from my datalogger.

RPM 3269
IAT 158
Boost 57





Mine will stumble when flooring it. smarty+6's = flooded engine.

Im guessing the same in your case.

I hate easing into it, but have to.
 
Thanks. I think I figured some stuff out today. I followed Matt's advice & tried the lower timing & lower fueling on Redline. I ran Smarty sw3 Timing 2 with Redline 80% [felt strongest at 80%]. I tried 60%, but it felt weak. I took it for a test drive & the local idiot was out in his 5.0 Mustang. Injectors run really good Matt!!!!!!!:rockwoot:
 
I got it dialed in now Matt. Adrenaline/Redline stack is very wicked! I ran Adrenaline 70% tune on this run with timing at 10*[PL02] With redline on 60%. Anything more felt like it had less. I adjusted my wastegate rod longer to try to control boost better, still hits 62psi after 7 full turns? I can't wait to hit the sled tomorrow night!

Sounds pretty wicked, what Adrenaline tune is the 70%. Did you put in bigger connector tubes? I put in bigger tubes the same time as the new head and curious to see if you have any of the same symptoms. With the bigger tubes I had tons of smoke before the turbo spooled even with no chip. Even cruising down the highway there was a constant stream of smoke. I went with alittle smaller tubes with no filters and its better but still not the same as before. Just debating if I should put the filters in or not. If you put in bigger tubes see if you notice any of the same symptoms.

The injectors are 7x.018's that Matt is letting me try. I'm not referring to my M5's in this thread [incase you missed it]. Nope, stock tubes & stock lines here. The 70% tune is a tune that Quad made me the night before I went to the dyno in october. It only fuels 70% available fueling below 3200rpm, but pulls hard to 4300rpm on my truck. Without the box, I can drive with very minimal smoke puffs. Highest egts are 1700* so far, but no higher yet.
 
I see, yeah I realized your running different injectors I just thought if you did swap out those tubes if you notice any difference but you didn't no problem.

There is a local sled pull this weekend I might try, I know every truck is diffrent but what Adrenaline tune would you recommend. Also what gear do you usually pull in?

2nd high. The 70% tune is my favorite. Should allow you to launch around 3600rpm.
 
The pulls were cancelled. I put my M5's back in to pull "No smoke" class on Saturday at Fayette county fair. I'm not done with the 7x.018's yet though. I plan to try them with bigger tubes.
