I have been wanting to add a bit more power to my truck and don't want to do away with my edge comp box. I have done some research and think that I want to stack the smarty on my edge comp. I also want the smarty to adjust the computer for tire size. Does anyone here have any input for the smarty on my truck. Is the low end power gains good with a smarty stacked on the edge comp? Any inputs will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks guys

For just alittle more you can get injectors, and you'll tell a lot more difference
CompD Mobile Device

for your truck the smarty is going to be a bit limited as far as power gains go. for lets say a cp3 truck like mine its a different story...

i wouldn't trade my smarty for the world but i am getting much higher power gains than your fuel system will allow due to electronic limitations (or lack there of)

yes, the tire size adj. is great, but there are cheaper programmers for the money that will do the same thing. or you can just get a good scan tool to do it

I put a smarty on my truck when it was pretty well all stock and it was horrible. I lost 3 tenths in the 1/8th. Now that I have a stupid laggy truck and to much fuel, the smarty is the ticket. I put it on and it cleans up some of the smoke (thank god), brings daily driving back, and it hauls some major ass. I am stacking it with my juice though.

I have always head stacking a Smarty and Edge on a VP'd truck it pointless. The gains have either been minimal or went backwards..

not if you have enough other work done to your truck to get the full gain form stacking.

Smaty will help hold max power for a longer range than with the edge itself.

I got mine for several reasons, get rid of tq management, change speedo for tires, read codes, and to get the 3 cyl and high idle when it's cold. Works great for daily driving, throttle response is better. Haven't had it on dyno to see what it actually does. But it pulls better and runs better on the drag track with the smarty...

150hp injectors Aurora 4000 turbo and drag comp... I daily drive smarty on 4 and comp off. Leave the comp on 5x5 if I want to reach down to turn it on just to play.

Drag and pulling track I use smarty on 2 and comp on 5x4 or 5x5. I set the tq management to 6 also, lets me build boost without defueling....

Also I can turn my wife lose with the horse trailer and set the smarty to half power and don't have to worrry about egt's... I also run half power in the winter cuz when turbo lights when you are least expecting it on ice it gets bad in a hurry...

Thanks for all of the input guys!! I am just trying to get some input on what I plan on doing to the truck this summer along with tinting. I think I am just going to go ahead and try to get my hands on a smarty and see what happens.

Be looking for a dual disk or triple disk if your are pulling or racing alot. with injectors and the stack and turbo itll be slippin in no time.

Definatly start looking at dual disks, i destroyed an 13in ofe playing around one night, with similar mods.

Whenever it becomes clutch time holler at me. I know a guy..... LOL

im surprised so many negative comments about the smarty, the only thing i had on my truck when i put the smarty on was my edge juice, the smarty gave me so much low end power that i had a hard time not spinning the tires on wet pavement. it doesn't give you much if anything on the top end but on the bottom it really wakes the truck up. atleast it did for me.

I got to test a smarty on my truck. I loved it!! It was a huge wake up. I couldn't run the comp all the way up with the smarty on level 9. I believe it was over fueling the turbo. It just took forever to spool for some reason. When I played with the comp box a bit it really came alive. It would slip my clutch pretty easily. Since testing it, I have hauled a couple big loads and caused my clutch to be really weak. I can slip it now with just the comp box and no load. I am now saving for a dual disk clutch to hold over 700hp.

Smarty makes my truck way to touchy on the throttle. I hate driving it with the Smarty, and I dunno if it really adds any power or if you just think it does because it fools with the TPS. I would spend the money elsewhere, like bigger injectors, better turbo, heavier clutch, etc.

Not suppose to put the smarty on level 9 when u have the comp on...even numbers only. Your double timing when u have it on 9
