Monster Pump????

I've seen RPA's truck run a couple of times with his stage II monster pump and it was a big jump from his HRVP he ran before. I think the limiting factor for the monster pump is getting enough air to burn the fuel they can provide, it's going to take a fair amount of head work to see just what the monster pumps are capable.

Its amazing that guys can use a stock 12v head with a single turbo and p-pumps that flow more than this pump is capable of and still make big power but a 24v head needs major P&P, and huge twins to see over 500hp out of this "monster" pump.

I know almost nothing about this Monster pump you all speak of, but in theory shuold'nt an injection pump just supply the volume of fuel needed to create large HP. I would think injectors or timing would play more of a factor in the equation. Not so much as the pump alone? What flows more CFM, a stock 12V head or a stock 24V head?$.02

a stock 12v head flow 145cfm intake 153cfm exhaust and 24valve head flows
161cfm intake 173 cfm exhaust

When i can make 500hp with a HRVP from II with my set up and the smarty on 8 only i dont think i will be buying a mystery pump. So whats the smarty on 8 worth hp wise. Maybe 60hp so i am in the 450 range on fuel only. When i see a mystery pump compared to a HRVP i might reconsider.

I have to agree with jkt.
Show me some comparisons from testing pump vs pump. I think you can even flow test a VP44 on a bench tester. Give me some numbers that prove this pump is going to do more.....then put that big price tag on it.
I hope like hell this thing is the next big leap for us VP guys, but i've bought enough ''magic beans'' for the next 2 years, so i'll wait till someone else shows me some proof.

I took the smarty off my truck and left the TST off...no programming what so ever...and dynoed 470hp with injectors and HRVP44 only...

not that im trying to talk this pump like crazy but the plan is tomm me and a buddy are meeting mike the guy who did darren smiths pump and gregs the one in the vid i posted a link to
i dont have access to a dyno right now except cummins dyno and its a lil hard on trucks likes to blow them up since its a semi truck load dyno and its like ancient is uses water brakes.. takes way too long t load too so im going to take stk pump vids of egt and boost and try to get some half a$$ 1\4 mile times and then the monster to see if we gained anything if anyone has anything they would like me to try to do let me know ill try to get vids or something
some of the dyno shops told us if it comes in smoking black it wont come back and we are kindof banned
thats all for now thanks jeremy

I bought my Stage II pump from Northeast Performance Diesel. I haven't broken down once. I've had the pump for awhile now. There is definately a difference in power. I drive my truck every day. Its great to get feed back but I don't rely completely on what someone else says. I spent the money and found out for myself. I'm happy with it. I have no problem with negitive feed back but I'd want to hear it from someone that has one. Not just for the pumps but for anything.

getblown 5.9 - If you don't have one, how can you judge? I don't think your trying to put out constructive criticism.

I Did Talk To Mike Today And I Do Take Back That I Said He Sells A Stage 3 He Has One That He Is Working On And Its Not Got All The Bugs Worked Out Yet Like Gus Said There Isnt A Stage 3 For Sale Yet And He Said Its Not Very Driveable
But I Did Get The Pump Tonight And It Will Be On The Truck Very Soon I Will Post What My Findings As Soon As I Am Able To

ok we have gottenthe monster stage 2 installed here is the mods of the truck and here is what we found with no boxes on
truck is an 01 srw, 5speed, exc short bed,stk head gasket, stk bolts, 130k miles, jammer 5's, tst i forget what model it is but its the top of the line for a 24v, smarty, pro street 66 with the 16cm ss housing, sb dd 3850, and .093 connector tubes. i believe this is all the mods on the truck its previous dyno with mods was 416 hp minus the 66 turbo and pump, it had a s300 on when it mad 416.

stk pump no boxes at 60 mph 900* and 2 psi how correct the gauge is i dont know
3rd gear matted to floor no boxes 1100* and 30 psi max
60 mph with smarty and stk pump was 750*-800* and 35 psi max
3rd gear tst on 4 smarty on 5 wastegate set to 42 psi and creeps to 45 psi at wot and gets over 1600 deg

the above results were taken before we go rai and 50-60 mph winds and everythig became ice we got the pump on during the ice storm

now with monster pump on it does have and older mike called it a ring it had to do with the rate of injection he said but he said next time we meet up he will change it out for free. this pump was picked up mainly for us to test and for pulling

the truck idles very awkward it lopes for a bit and then smooth idles then lopes again has a little bit louder timeing or diesel knock whatever you want to call it and throttle is crazy responsive he said its like driveing my 1 v with the gov springs tightened way way down he said if you hit a bump, since he isnt used to it his foot bounces and the truck jumps a little but we have a lot of wind and ice on the road and not a good timeto test so as soon as the roads are dry we will test again sorry its not a dyno or the best way to test but right now its all we have
i am trying to get some dyno time to see what it will do back to back pumps

please excuse the frequently missed letters in words or misspellings for my computer is junk and doesnt do as i ask all the time

hope some if this info will help but i am trying and i dont even really care about this thing since i own a cr and a 12v but im tired of everyone wanting answers and noone will try to make an attempt
please be patient and i will writeup the rest when i can finish testing
jeremy

Thanks alot Jeremy ... Doing a great job of putting time into this... when i get mine i will dyno it and list my mods as you did... Keep us posted on any more updates or dynos u guys may do.

thanks for the info...i wanna see some dyno proof still.

if I had the extra cash, i would have already bought a stage 2 and called the TNT guys to get a day set where I can run my HRVP44 for a base run, then turn around and install the monster pump, same day, same dyno so there are NO OTHER VARIABLES to give some results.

I believe that is what his attempts are when the weather gets better.

too many variables...different days, not sure if he is gonna use the same dyno, different turbos

for some results to be able to stand up, the only change can be the pump

I dynoed 462hp with no electronics w/ a HRVP44.

I'd buy a Stage II in a heartbeat if there was undeniable proof that it was reliable, streetable, and worth the money for the power increase. Until then I just keep eye'ing a p-pump conversion... Should get me tax refund soon:woohoo:
