Need Traction BADDD!!!

go ahead and start looking for slicks Clayton eventually you will need them, especially in a longbed 2wd. Once you get it to hook decent your times will drop .8 seconds or better. The slicks for the Charlsa's truck are too short and she runs out of rpms at the end. Look for a 31-33" tire. IMHO.

ya i figured i might as well get slicks anyways.

I got some 18x10s now that should help me hook up better alot wider then what i used to have.

I would let you try it but, your big ass would slow it down, i def. dont want to get slower then i already am.

Weight can help...My fastest track time of 13.81, left the line with no boost or anything, just easing out on the clutch, I had 6 bags of sakrete in a toolbox sat bolted down at the back of the bed...first time I didn't spin my ass off lol

shows what you know about diesels clay. few hundred pounds isnt gonna make a difference when you make tons of torque ( oh wait you dont ) i stripped over a 300 pounds from the bus and it didnt gain enough to justify taking off what i did. what helped blake was where the weight was places

no matter what weight is going to help it might not always make since to have taken it off but once you get to the level that some of the guys are every pound starts to count

I don't think Clay is looking to break into the 9's anytime soon lol

I'd like to cut a little weight myself. Scott, I think the thing that caused you not to see much difference was the 6" lift. That thing was pushing a lot of air. $.02

Yea but lift or no lift, I dropped like 300 pounds from the truck and ran back to back weekends, with identical weather condition, truck in great shape and ran identical times to the week previous. In my dads gasser drag truck that would have dropped his times 3/10's. I don't see it benefiting anyone unless you drop 500-1000+.

And clay you sure didn't help your e/t's with those big ole tires on the front and back. Your shooting for less rolling resistance. Not more.

I'm gonna have to agree with bus. On my buddy's 6 spd every time another person rode with him he dropped a 1/10th in the 1/4 and he was only in the 13's.

Yes weight will make a difference but not at the level most of us compete at and with the amount of torque these trucks have the added traction is very helpful.

FACT:
If clay had friends he could get them to ride in the bed for added traction and lower et's.

Hey now. I consider clay a buddy of mine. I don't weigh much so I won't help in the traction department. LOL
