Need Tranny expert 47re or 48re ??

If you would just check the psi you would know.. Very easy to do if you have a gauge..

The 48 has higher lock up psi!
 
IIRC, there is a part number stamped (bunch of dimples to make the number outlines) in the side of the case along the flange the oil pan mounts to. It is a long part number that is about 1/4" tall. I believe I ran the number at the dealer, to find out what I had when I bought a transmission with no history a while back.
 
There is a number there, it is called a pin stamp. He is correct that number should give you the number you need.

Dodge dealer didn't know how to look it up. Useless idiots

Says right in the factory manual to use that number for ordering parts
