new monster vp

i just put mine #2 monster pump on sunday after i picked it up from mike and all i can say is holy crap. What a big difference it is compared to the other POS i had.Truck runs so good i blow the head gasket on both ends.So will be doing a gasket job this weekend.
 
yes i know i should o-ring it but did not retorque the head like i should have just got side tracked when i bought another truck for daily driving.already have arps in it will just put new head gasket in and see what happens this time.This time will retourqe head like needed to be.
 
will see what happens. Want to pull engine some day and do complete rebulid and oring it then when complete tear down is done.Want to make a puller and drag racer out of it if the wife agrees with it if you know what i mean.
 
It is possible to build a drag truck/ puller. May have to do some changes here and there between pulling and drag racing, but shouldn't be too major. All depends on the drive train and gearing, turbo specs, ect. Worst case senario would be to have to change turbo's. That is if you go with an automatic tranny and can still run a 4.10 or faster gear in the truck. Now if your dealing with a 5spd truck, the dual disk clutch may not allow for quick shifting on the drag strip and if you do the 4.88 or 5.13 gear swap, then the 1/8th mile maybe about all the truck would be good for. Then again I could be wrong. If your running a 6spd with the stock 3.54 or 4.10 gears, then the clutch maybe your only problem not allowing quick shifts.
 
Pick one or the other...there is already enough headaches with building a dedicated racer or puller, let alone both.
 
not sure what i want to do is a big decision to make and alot of work to switch back and forth to both pull and racing the truck.
 
what for fuel lub additive u useing with this new pump 24vcummins whats mike want ya to run been running cenpeco
 
Would be pretty interesting to see how reliable they are, how they do on the street. I've been throwing around the idea of maybe getting one when my SO goes for a poop, since I want to start into the drag race scene. But I need my truck as a DD as well...hmm.
 
yea mine sounds like that too ED had mine for a few weeks so far its good i DD mine not bad at all on the street just idle is weard
