well i think o'll stick wih just trying to keep up with the 2.6 class trucks for now. i really wanted to add some big injectors this winter and switch to a 2.8 that was of course until i realized my truck would get spanked with a 2.8 on there so im stain gwith the little guys lol
the 2.6 around here go to be so high hp that a lot of guys did not want to pull so now we only have 3.0 and unlimited single class.
You guys are crazy. Are you judging because of dyno numbers or what? A 2.6 truck that puts down 8XX hp is guarenteed to be a common rail. No knock against them at all but they but up some crazy dyno numbers. I would like to see say... Wesley Wade pull against Rodd Tarr or Kevin Cole. Bet he would get 50 feet put on him. Great truck by the way Wes.

I think ur crazy! 50ft no way! 10-20 proably! Also im more curious has to how 97ctd truck is going to run next year! You throw some water on those trucks and i dont think they will be 50ft behind kevin cole or Tarr and i know those are 2 very strong running trucks, ive seen them pull many times!

With the opened up turbo rules, a 2.6" charger is going to be essentially a bushed 3.0" charger. This is what we're getting at. Likely won't be winners but I bet they're a lot closer than you'd expect.
True 2.6" turbos aren't gonna hang, no.
IF you throw water at it. Thats not a legal 2.6 truck then. If you stuff an ag pump and if you did this and did that. Thats totally different.
I agree. I think they are 2 of the best running 2.6 trucks out there. And they would be 40-50 feet behind a super street truck.

I agree a 2.6 truck that matches rules for the 2.6 class, isn't the same league as a purpose built 3.0 truck

Well then you have a 3.0 truck, not a 2.6 truck. So your saying that some of the trucks from LAST year that ran 2.6 turbos switched to a 3.0 charger and added water they could compete? Yes but they are not 2.6 trucks. They are 3.0 trucks. Since I ran 2.6 last and am completely rebuilding and going bigger. Its labeled a 2.6 truck? I thought its what was under the hood is what determined that:bang
Correct your no longer a 2.6 truck. You said add water to a 2.6 truck. That wouldnt be a legal 2.6 truck. So saying a 2.6 truck that adds water and a 3.0 charger is not a 2.6 truck and will not compete with a 3.0 truck. No legal 2.6 truck on earth will give a purpose built super street truck such as Rodd Tarrs for instance a good run in a super street weighted sled.
Read what you wrote! Adding water no longer makes that a legal 2.6 truck. Without it, they will be 50 feet behind.
Hanging with them means getting close to beating them correct?
