NV5600 Rebuild. Any Lessons Learned?

The clutch lining always flakes off the third synchro for some reason....I don't know why? How far is it from Dallas to Stillwater? I'll help you if I can or if you need it but I'm confident you don't. PM me if you want help!

Thanks MC. Please see "Axle Carnage" for my more urgent need as of this evening. :(

When mine did that it was a spring from my hub that was broken and hung up in the works,I figured it out when I looked through the slot and saw a buncha pieces in there.

Well, you have the rear end fixed, you still scratching third? I'll come help you for two "Texas Toothpicks", a beaver pelt, and you have to let me pet Sophie! Does she steal shiny stuff? The one my uncle had would steal anything shiny.

argggg.... sure not looking forward to my 3rd gear syncro going out..

a good way to tell if clutch hydraulics is barely working is determine where during clutch pedal travel, engagement occurs.

generally if clutch master/slave is not working properly. engagement will occur right off the floorboard.

besides hydraulic issues... air in line, etc. worn clutch slave cylinder shaft to clutch actuating arm pivots can wear. when that happens you will not get full disengagement. which is a quick prescription for lunched syncro's.

Yip. I'm going to buy the South Bend hydrualic upgrade as soon as I break it to the wife that I need one and I get the bill passed. :D As far as your labor cost.....the pelts are frozen and not tanned and the "texas toothpicks" were a gift, but have two of them in my truck AND Sophie would love her back scratched. So, I have all the requirements covered. :hehe:

The toothpicks are hanging from the rearview mirror and have been for about 2 years. Hopefully you can see them in this pic.

Well chit, I can't swap you out of your toothpicks if they were a gift, that wouldn't be right. I'm already in enough trouble over the "whole" skunk I have in the freezer so adding a beaver hide probably ain't a good idea. How is Sophie around strangers?

Sophie is cool as long as I can get her out of her log during the day. If I throw out some food and leave, she'll come out. Then she is cool. She's great with the kids too as long as I keep my eye on her body language and eye contact. She sticks her head out of the pen and gives my little girl kisses all the time. Just gotta be ready like in the "when animals attack" shows. You never now and I won't trust her for much at a time. The only thing that she won't tolerate is the weedeater. I'm quit certain that if I threw it in the pen, it would be a pile of parts in a matter of minutes. :hehe: She love attention and petted and FOOD. She is fat fat fat. I need to get a pic of her eating. She sits on a split log hung from one side of the pen. She sits up like Jaba the Hut and eats food off her belly.

She sounds too cool! If you ever run across one of her baby relatives, keep me in mind, I'd love to have one. I lost both my dogs so I need a buddy to fool with, might even let it run around with me. Only problem will be when "momma" wants to let it stay in the house.
