ODRA/NADM Texas Diesel Roundup Oct 10

SOOOO- I know it was mentioned a few times, but is there going to be a dyno set up also?

did something happen to the lil red cummins express?

Yes, he blew a freeze plug and hit the wall last night (twice). On his first pass he ran a 10.4 and on that pass he ran 10.38, hit the wall after the finish line.

Max is OK...Lil Red is hurt, don't know the extent of the damage yet.

Not bad considering going 130MPH... Max is ok, truck is repairable. The catch is we were talking about the freeze plugs before the race and he has some from Haisley machine that should be arriving at the house soon.

The bus just ran an 11.56... Gotta see if I can back off to put down some 12.0's for qd

By the way it was a total bust on the pulling. At about 11:00 when I pulled in they were running drags and I saw the Hush Power truck just getting unloaded and NO sled anywhere.
I went up and checked out the racing action and wondered about for a while and finally about 12:30 went up the NADM booth and asked if they were still pulling and was told
"no, it's too wet- there was 6" of water standing yesterday and we found out that the power lines for this whole place are about a foot under the dirt right where they were going to run the pulling track"
I asked, so how did we not know this? I was told "it just came up". I figure this is just the track people not knowing a good puller could make a hole a foot deep or the tractor could dig in when cleaning up the track and that would pretty much shut it all down if not kill someone when they hit the power cables. I was pretty disappointed and since it was about 50* and starting to drizzle rain I called it a trip and went home to salvage the day of watching college football at least.
I wish they would have said something yesterday when they found out about the ground problems (black muck doesn't dry up well) and the power cables. This could have saved a lot of people a lot of money and time. I like the racing ok, but really went to see the pulling. Pulled my 5'er 160 miles to watch a few drag races, not exactly what I had in mind. By the way- no dyno for sure, don't think that was ever part of their plan but was just suggested by a few on here.

had a good time met some good new people...BUT how hard is it to stay OUT of the mud and rocks and etc also i think we need to have a video of, "racing for dummys" class before SOME of these people get out here...word of advice- the pre stage and stage beams are not gonna come to you...you have to creep on them. but for the others yall ran some great times for the track being a lil cold...And to Scott congrats on your winning!!

X2 on the "racing for dummys".....there for a minute i felt like a pro drag racer compared to a FEW of the people runnin LOL congrats to the winners:cheer: thanks odra and nadm

I just wish there would have been pulling. The drags were cool, but the pulling was a big part of it. I was really disappointed to hear that they had just been told about the power lines, I can't believe the track folks didn't realize that part.
I will say this- I can't believe how many people were missing shifts and throttling at the mid point on the track, definitely not used to running drag races!

Had a good time. Sucks about the Cummins Express. That was a sweet lookin rig. And, from the few people I actually got around to talking to, for some of them it was their first time in a drag. I guess we've all got to start somewhere, right?

And Scott, two thumbs up on your truck man. We sat next to you in staging for a little bit and you've got a great looking rig that runs even better.

Shame about Max hitting the wall but it stayed right side up and it's repairable.

As for the pulls that sounds like a train wreck, that Texas soil down there doesn't dry well when it's that wet, looks like Mother Nature is catching up this month.
