ODRA/NADM Texas Diesel Roundup Oct 10

It was a good event even with all the slip ups! Was a little dissapointed that the pulls were cancelled because thats what I really wanted to see but what can you do! Great job NADM & ODRA!!

Just real dissapointed in all the effin tools this sport has! How effin hard is it to control your dumba$$! They say no burnouts and dougnuts in the parkin lot usually that means NO.....bunch of effin douche whistles (lol thanks forrest). Little pricks ain't ever going to learn!!

All in all thanks for a good day and congrats to the winners!!!

Had a good time. Sucks about the Cummins Express. That was a sweet lookin rig. And, from the few people I actually got around to talking to, for some of them it was their first time in a drag. I guess we've all got to start somewhere, right?

And Scott, two thumbs up on your truck man. We sat next to you in staging for a little bit and you've got a great looking rig that runs even better.

thanks man, what truck were yall in?

this msut have been going on after i left. i didnt see any burnouts or donuts, i was pretty proud of how every one behaved

Great job School Bus! It was good to see you again. I thought it was a good turnout for the weather and compared to the last couple of drag races. Thanks NADM/ODRA! Keep these events coming to Texas!

Thanks again!

thanks man, what truck were yall in?

Maroon/Silver 2 toned 2nd gen, ext cab on 3rd gen wheels. It's a friend of mine's truck and he wasn't even going to run in it, but we finally got him talked into it. I felt he did pretty good. We ran against the white dually 24V with twins and lost by less than a second. The ONLY mods my buddy has done are a #10 plate, 3GSK's, and 15.5* timing advance. Not bad for $350 worth of upgrades!

And as for the burnouts, there was a black Dmax in front of us that was smoking the tires before he even got in the gate. I guess it's easier to look cool in the parking lot than on the strip.

Should have worked on them before we left the track while the internet was available. No internet access now but I'll post them tomorrow once we get home. I have a couple of winners circle pics for u too.

One wild ride for sure. Kind of odd the best time the truck has ever ran was during a crash. 10:38 at 127 launching with about 8 pounds of boost. Brakes could not hold the truck with the fresh tranny and lower stall. As stated earlier blew a freeze plug clean off the truck. Broke loose instantly from the coolant at the traps at around 120- 127. Managed to turn completely around facing the starting line and smashed the wall pretty good. One wild ride for sure. It starts, drives forward and backward but does need a good amount of work.

well i learned drag racing isnt my thing, since the sled pulling was cancelled i decided to try my luck on the strip, first and only run for the truck, 3rd gear 4wd 40psi launch shattered 3rd gear, also ran the beetle couldnt really get off the line but ran a 16.30, havent got the tune turned up yet but was happy with the results. i did however leave them a memory of me 4 200 ft black marks down the strip at the burn out competition had to leave in 4th it was the only good gear i had left..

What is the deal with you and transmissions?? Are you putting oil in them and not sand?

I will say this- I can't believe how many people were missing shifts and throttling at the mid point on the track, definitely not used to running drag races!

I'll agree.. but many were pulling trucks that have clutches that don't like to shift at higher rpms... some good runns by School Bus, and full pull's truck.. Jone's Dmax...
And some long hauls by the Dominator Diesel guess.. (who just got to sit on the trailer..) and Garrett Shields...
Good Job by those that turned out.. but I sure missed the pulling.. (I know there was nothing that could have been done... )

The event was successful despite the weather conditions - we came down South to get warm? What happened! Weather is always a concern when doing outdoor events - we have been planning this event for over a year! We were hoping the sun would come out like the weather guy said and it would be dry enough by noon but as most saw with the monster truck it was pretty mucky.

Love the way the pullers jumped in and helped the event by racing and participated in the show-n-shine and burnout contest! In fact the second place ET winner was a puller who had never been on the track - won $500!

Good turnout, apprecite the local vendors and the local clubs supporting the event. Track owner was impressed enough to talk with Bobby about building a full blown pulling track next spring!

Appreciate ODRA with the promotion, and all of our workers who made this possible!

Yes we had a few boneheads who thought they would look cool by endangering others and buring out doughnuts in the pits when they were asked not to many different times. All you did was raise the price of next year's event by the track owner wanting security which is expensive which in turn will make the gate fee higher - a big thanks to you guys!

Overall a good event and it will be back 99% of the attendees was a great crowd and good to see many different friends we haven't seen in a while!

i even got coolers and that give it 2 more qt. oil capacity, the last trans was doing so good, i didnt know you werent suppose to take off like i did. next time i'm only leaving with 10-15 psi. boost probably better to get it rolling then nail it.

That green truck with the flames was running pretty good! Not too bad for a vp truck!

That truck did run good. I was honestly surprised by how many fast Ford's were there.

I would love to post pics and vids that I took, but my wife conveniently found our camera charger about 10 minutes after I walked through the door when I got home; in a place where she told me I was wasting time looking on Friday night. :nail:

I would like to thank NADM, ODRA, all of the sled pullers, and drag racers for coming out.

It would have been great if we could have sled pulled, but drag racing is fun too. I dont think the truck likes it much though.

Oh and MAGOO rather than trash talk the guys that did particapate, why dont you go back to watching football!!!! At least those guys stayed and supported the sport, thats more than what could be said for you.
