Oil in exhaust ports and manifold help!

Put it back together and go pull a moderately loaded trailer a few hundred miles.

Mark.

The more you idle an not work it, the more chance you have of the walls glazing an not being able to set the rings properly. Make it work get it hot.

I cleaned all the exhaust ports with brake clean and wiped them out the best I could. Started it up for a couple min and didn't see any signs of oil so I'm going to let it sit for a couple days to see if the valve seals leak. If nothing happens I'm going to throw it back together but my only problem is the truck doesn't have a reliever hitch anymore so I'm going to have to figure out what to do for adding enough weight to break it in

There is definitely more going on than rings not being seated.

Pretty sure it was just the rings not being seated and running the **** out of it. I cleaned everything and put it together. I put about 1000 miles on it so far and it seems to be getting better and better. Can't smell oil from the tail pipe anymore
