P-Pump or Monster/Dragon VP?

VP won Schied 07 also. He is on this site, forget his username, he hangs out with the Ohio guys.

TS 08 = ppump
Schied 08= Common Rail

Get you a good 12mm pump at 450-500 cc's and drive it all day every day. .

So how does the size and volume relate to the P-Pumps. I'm only familiar with the 160, 180 and 215 pumps. From what I've gathered you can make more out of a 180 than a 215. Is it similar to the SO VP44 vs the HO VP44? Lower pressure but more volume?

Another thing to consider is the cost of the swap vs the cost of a new VP. The p-pump conversion costs more than any of the VP options...granted if you go with a Monster or the new Dragon Fire (vs a stock VP), it will be closer to the cost of the p-pump conversion, but its still a tossup.

Then figure in how many vp44's you will go through before you can hurt one p pump. Then it really makes it easy:rockwoot:

As far as your other comment, I think there is a big misunderstanding in that everyone thinks that the p-pumped trucks (12v or 24v) aren't streetable because they smoke too much. If it is set up and tuned well, they still can put down a lot of hp and be driven on the street.

$.02

Right on man!! Guys see these 13mm ag pumps on trucks and think its a regular p pump are a bit mistaken!! A very good 12mm pump can handle PLENTY of power!

I agree. A lot of guys don't think that far out of the box though. You can't beat the reliability! :rockwoot:

Theres also adjustability that makes sense to some of us who do more with our trucks than sled pull. Also, what if I go to pick up my grandma to go out to dinner...."Just wait 10 minutes grandma, I gotta adjust my pump, then get another shower.":hehe::Cheer:

I have no idea how the P-pumps work if you can't tell.:hehe: Can somebody explain something? There has been times where I'll get finished up with a construction job the day of a sled pull. I've had to tow my machine to sled pulls & drop it off at a nearby parking lot, then pull, then haul the machine home. With a P-pump, how hard is it & how much time are we talking to make the adjustments necessary to go from towing, to pulling, to towing again?

LMAO! I got to adjust my pump, then take another shower LOL Grandma might think that sounded sexual???

Anythony you for got to Cheer :cheer:

Matters what you do with the truck. I wouldn't go P-pump on a DD, only because it isn't adjustable. The vp isn't reliable, but you have alot of choices. If you tune your truck right, a vp can make plenty of power & switch on the fly.

p-pump not adjustable that wierd

I'm talking about from the drivers seat. I'm just saying....If its winter time, I'm sitting in my truck hitting buttons with a vp. If I had a P-pump, I'm wrenching on the side of the road with my butt crack hanging out & ice crystals forming. Just wrenching along while people pass by screaming "Say no to crack!!!! Fatass!!!".

I thought this only happened to me.

I was washing my truck once, had my gym type shorts on, no drawstring, bent over scrubbing away on the wheels, some girl drove by yelling "crack kills fat boy"

I did the only logical thing, i never stood up, just reached back with my free hand and pulled them down so the full moon was in view. bet she doesn't yell at me anymore, that is...if she survived the first view.

:hehe: Something similar happened to me. I was replacing my fuel filter [stock at the time] & a car of guys drove past. One guy yelled "you better wash that thing". I told my buddy "Whats he talking about, I just detailed the truck yesterday". My friend replied "I think he meant your ass, its been hanging out the entire time.":bang I didn't even realize.
