We did a TDI VW a while back, replacing the headgasket after some serious EGR failure, I was just spinning the motor over looking at the cylinder wall finish and #2 and #3 protruded below the block, while 1 and 4 were above the block... that job turned $$$$$ fast
but like Snedge said... it ran fine, never would have noticed it
