Trying to figure out what tire i want to run this year! Was either thinking BajaClaw, Baja ATZ, BFG A/T, Interco STS, or there new M16! What do you guys think would be the best tire, most of are tracks around here are pretty tight caly tracks, but some get pretty loose! By the way the tire is going to be a 33/12.50.

BFG A/T.

I agree. I think the BFG AT would be a good choice. They seem to be a great all around tire. The STS's seem to be pretty popular too. I am going to try a set of those out this year.

Ill be trying the Baja Claws in 33x13.50 and 33x15.50. I hear mixed things on them though.

I emailed ya about some tires to trade. BFG AT, about 75% tread. The BFG or the STS won't do well on mud. But for everything else they shine. I have a set of BFG A/T and I am gonna run them again this year. They just do a good job at most of the tracks.

Didnt get your email yet! Yeah i have heard that to about baja claws love em or hate em and there $$$!

Ive decided to gige them a try. Im still contenplating if I wan to try a bias ply version.

Does anyone run m/t up front and a/t on back? I see a lot of mod trucks have more cleat on the front tires then on the back. I think they do this cause the front pulles ya off the line and most the time the starting line gets pretty tore up. The back has less cleat so ya dont through a lot of dirt in front of the sled ( pulling more weight ) and doesnt dig down when the back of the truck has all the sled weight. Any thoughts???

Of course you could say the dirt you throw in front of the sled is a nice loose bed for the pan to slide on.

If most tracks are hard packed clay. IMO you won't find a better tire than the STS. Real close second for that type of track would be BFG AT.

That's MY $0.02

I see different, the STS seem to work well on the loose track(not mud) the hard clay tracks look like the eat the STS tires up. Ideally I would have a tire for the mud tracks, and a tire for the tight tracks(AT) if you deal with alot or loose tracks then the STS would work well.

All of the dirt dont go under the sled!!! With all the weight on the pan...??? I always see a pile of dirt infront of the sled when the truck pulls away!!! More on some then on others! The less dirt ya through infront of the sled the better!!!

I just looked at the m16, not a big fan of the tread pattern, but who knows.

Never said all of it went under. You don't want to throw a huge pile in front of it, but that 15-20lbs of dirt in front of the sled probably isn't too much considering 30,000lb sled. Alot of it depends on soil composition. If you can get the pan sliding on the loose stuff the sled will not stop you. I have video of where they were dropping the pan at 30 feet and the trucks still kept dragging the sled out to over 250 feet.

Yeah it kind of looks like the tread pattern will throw dirt off to the side! And it looks similar to the bogger!

I would think their was other factors involved then some dirt going under the pan...to get that much distance after droping the pan....

When a pull can be won or lost by less then an inch 15 to 20 lbs does make a differance.

You get those tracks, that are like that. Not all of them are the hard pack Indiana clay tracks. Yes but 15-20 lbs of dirt that assures you have a dirt bed underneath the pan, could float the pan enough to give you that inch. This is just a theory I am wandering about as I have seen a few tracks like I said you just lug the sled out, it just keeps going and going.

good thang yall dont pull down here in florida the main tire we us id the bogger anythang that will pit in our losse tracks. Mtz's work great also great all around tire.
