what benefits if any are there with running one or the other or could you run both ? i have a dual feed line on order for my truck just curious about which might work better or atleast get opinions

the rail cap only eliminates the rail pressure relief valve that can sometimes leak if it has been opened due to high pressure. the dual feed is just that a second feed line that helps the rail from being run dry as easy

I run the dual feed line, it took a little bit but I stopped the leaking issue

for the cost... dual lines have no benefit at all....hp, mpg's or volume. If the fuels not available, dual lines aren't going to get anymore to the rail. The rail can only fill so much and as long as there's adequate supply & psi you're not going to drain it. I've seen several threads with people unhappy about their purchase of them.

That is sorta true, you have to make it part of a bigger picture, I truely believe that in my situation it helps... I had to cap my rail anyways, and I felt that this was the best way to go

Forgive me for asking but strictly for learning. I know the process involving dual feed lines.

But explain how capping the rail helps I mean what do you do to actually cap the rail?

Capping the rail, permenatly closes the return line from the rail. The rail pressure relief if set to release pressure when it spikes, each time the valve open, it gets weaker and then rail pressure starts to drop. Capping the rail just prevents the valve from venting pressure.

I opinion is that the dual feed line works best with a mod pump. Watching my rail pressure vs with and without, i can see an increse in how fast the pressure ramps up.

I am runnin a dual feed line with dual pumps and before the dual pumps it would take out a dead spot in the throttle and now it helps the rail vs the cap or a old sensor works to

Rail cap &/or dual feed.

I'll start with dual feed. It is worth ZERO. I had my truck strapped down on the dyno and did a b-4 and after and it was ZERO net affect. It makes a great straw however for your cokes.

Rail cap,... the way to go. If you have a accurate rail gauge on your rail you will see 2k increase in rail pressure. That's about what a VA C3.1 or Edge EZ will do for you. Also you can't blow an RV valve as it takes it's place. IMO, don't go throw some bolt in there from a hardware store and spend a few $$$'s for a nice unit that doesn't leak. FloorIt has a sweet one,.. last time I heard it was about $55.

Why, that what I did, it cost me a whole dollar and works fine.

like others have said, the dual feed line is worthless.

Not only is it worthless, but they can fail and leave you stranded. I blew up two of them before I finally just capped the rail with one of Floor-it's caps.

EVERYONE I HAVE SAW WAS BURSTED WAS A GRAY LINE THE NEW ONES ARE BLUE AND BIGGER AND THICKER

Sorry for the dumb question. But were is the rail cap? How do you cap it?

is that actual " hose " or is it like poly hose ?

with 20K+psi going through that system, I sure wouldn't trust any "hose" unless it was hydraulic line and even then one that can handle that psi wouldn't be cheap.

Wes, see where that line goes into the rail. There's a psi relief valve there on the stock rail with a banjo bolt on the top. You can either get a hold of Floor it diesel for a rail plug or, drill and tap yours with a plug in it. If you do a search for capping the rail or something like that... you'll find more info about.

Not sure finally found some from a supplier. Its like 30k psi hose like a poly of some sort made by parker but have yet to accquire the fittings to make them my self

I tapped mine and used a stainless pipe plug with lock tite on it...no leaks, no issues and I still have 50 bucks in my pocket.

I'm glad some people have taken the time to machine a solid plug....they obviously work fine but this ain't rocket science here....simple and cheap does the job every bit as well.

why i have had a set screw i had in the garage, in my banjo bolt for the last year or so and has worked fine.

I agree.... tap the hole and throw in a bolt. I mentioned the part from John cause the guy that asked didn't seem to know a lot about how to do it and that's the easy way of capping it. Cummins also selling them known as " rail test plugs " but, John's is shiny :-)
