Why the F**K do people still hire that piece of sh!t junk Rebel Sled here in Maryland to come to a pull. Every pull I have been to where that sled shows up, it breaks down at least twice, sometimes unfixable causing whoever is putting the show on to give money back and they lose money on the event.

I will make sure that myself and any of my friends who don't like wasting 12 hours on a Saturday to go to a pull only to have the sled break down do not show up and support any promoter or pull that insists on hiring that outdated hunk of JUNK to save a few bucks.

Yesterday the pan hydraulics go out so they continue to pull with a sled that now starts off with the full pan dropped...meaning every truck digs down and tears the track up so deep that when you back up to the sled you are sitting in ruts 3-4" deep already. Then the motor has issues so they have to break out a tractor to start dragging the hunk of junk back to the start line.

I hope promoters and pullers start to see this is a waste of money and time and start hiring worthwhile sleds to show up at a pull.

Sometimes, funds and availability are the difference between a pull with a bad sled or no pull at all.

These fire companies etc that put on a pull to raise money for their station dont care that people leave pissed off and will not return for another pull. not to mention when you are giving people money back because they can't or dont want to hook to a broken sled you are not gonna make much if anything so it ends up being a wasted day and alot of work for nothing.

Any sled can break...but when the sled has a rep over the last 3 years of breaking at EVERY event it goes to...I know I'll be staying home when the rebel sled is scheduled.

I think that pieace of junk should be re-tired for good and they are just lucky we all just wanted a hook in the new season or I would have been out of there and if they don't get something different for there next pull i will not be there.

I will have to agree with you TJ I'm from PA you will have to let me know if that junk pill is going to be at eny pull in MD becuase I have yet to see that sled run right or put a even pull on.

And who run's a big rig in the middle of a class of diesel pick-up trucks that was real even.

id rather stay home or drive farther to a better pull......i can think of one sled roaming around ohio like that just has a piss poor operator......

Hey I dont think we have talked and I haven't got your name but NICE 1st gen you have!

The idea of the big rig was that those Hot Rod Semis all got together and said let one of us hook now, if we dont get 50' on that ****ty track with the broken pan they were packing up and leaving. Well the semi's were the only ones who did anything on that track with the sled.

anyone interested in seeing what a 162' pull looks like when the soft dirt on top is 4" deep and the pan is dropped on the sled from the start...here ya go...

Oh I see the problem now!!!

You want to DRAG RACE with a sled along for the ride, not PULL a sled!! LOLLOL

Hey, I wont say I haven't avoided sleds in the past- I can name 6 pretty quick, that I pulled once, and not again.
You've done all you can-told them how you feel. Now next pull, you call all whos in charge and ask them what sled-if its the same one tell them you wont be back.
Eventually, if its that big of a problem, they will change sleds, close the pull down, or close the class the complainers pull in.

Be careful dissing fireman though, unless you like living in a basement with no roof.:hehe:

yes i want to drag race... lol

and i wasn't dissing the firemen, they did what they could, but if they want to have a SUCCESSFUL event they need to think about spending the extra few bucks up front, and making their money back when the event can make it to the end without refunding the pullers and pissing them off so they dont come back for the next pull.

Man your just looking to trash a motor with a sled like that! Or driveline parts! I would of went home...

That looked like my pull 4 years ago at fayette county when the Decision Maker broke. I held it down just like you did & ended up popping a intercooler boot. Next time, I'm just gonna stop the truck & go home. It isn't worth risking your engine/parts for a junk sled.

Hay thanks we have alot of work and time in the old girl just trying to get all the new season bugs out. but thats why we stayed around. but my name is Dan.

I heard bout the track conditions and sled from jeremy, i'm kinda glad i didnt go. Wherever the sled stays you should find it and put "SH!TTY" overtop the rebel:hehe::hehe:

Looked like to me it was track conditions more then the sled. Wasn't that many years ago thats all their was...no powered sleds, the whole pan on the ground at the start! Next time that you have that bad of a starting line...move the sled over out of the ruts!

thought i blew up pullin the piece of junk....pegged 4 grand in 3rd by 20ft and had to shift to 4th which i dont have the power for..........i feel sorry for the gas guys 2nd place pulled 60' dont know about first tho....and yea the track ended up bein junk by the time TJ pulled cuz everyone was just diggin ruts try to get the sled rollin

in all honesty the sled needs to be retired. The rebel sled is nothing like any of richard loves sleds like decision maker that are actually maintained well.

we heard from people at the event that the owner of the rebel sled hasnt had the time anymore to maintain the sled or update it to remain reliable...if thats the case...then sell it to someone who will or dont bother bringin it out...how can he feel good about takin peoples money for not having a sled last through an entire pull.

cecilton also has a lot of loose or sandy soil at that particular track...thats not there fault, but if they can take a foot out of that sand and get some nice clay packed down in there the track would be more predictable and easier to prepare.

Its not that the track isnt capable of being prepared well...its just that the past week there was a lot of rain and i guess the soil was soft. maybe clay would help with that

also a wheel roller is a better way to pack the soil down then one of those big construction rollers, the construction roller was just pushing the soil around more then packin it down...
