Redline, Adrenaline, Smarty...guess what I'm thinking.

I've been running the 3600 from south bend for about 5 months now..hooked twice with it and it has performed well. Takes a week or so to get your leg used to the upgraded hydraulics though.

I have the upgraded hydros already. I drive my brothers truck quite often, he has the 3600# & it isn't too bad. I'd rather keep my 3250, but I'm tired of warping the floater & getting hard shifts. Did you notice hard shifts after sled pulling the 3600? I pulled once with the 3250 & noticed the floater was warped.

I havent hooked a redline up before, but I think it would be the same sequence as hooking up a EZ/TST. Then you just download the desired smarty settings.

No canbus or anything on the redline, just wires to apps, injection pump.

I notice hard shifts into 2nd sometimes, but I have a feeling thats more of a trans issue than the clutch because it doesn't do it while shifting into any other gear. I would think the plate load should help out with that.

Thats what my truck was doing, only hard to shift 2nd/reverse. The floater was warped slightly & not fully releasing. Peter sent me a new clutch, I'm not complaining, believe me. He is awesome!

The redline box stacked with a Smarty revo, makes a really good drag racing stack. It allows a lot of adjustablity for building boost, and maintaining a certain boost while staging. Once you launch (above a certain throttle position), the redline takes over and supplies full fueling. On my truck setting the redline to 93% fueling is about max (anymore then that and it will drain the VP44 rotor). The Smarty set to tq=4, timing=2, fuel=4, works the best for staging.

For me, drag racing the ADR/Redline stack doesn't work very well. Because of the way that the fueling comes on, it makes it very tough to maintain a fixed amount of boost. For my setup the timing curve is a little steep in the mid range.

At a high fuel setting on the redline box, the amount of advance above about 3400 rpm is a mute point. Due to limitations in the VP44, the actual timing the VP44 supplies is limited, no matter what the ECM commands.

If you are going to stack the ADR for drag racing, stacking it with a Smarty Revo makes a pretty good stack. It also doesn't set codes like the redline, and the Smarty reduces the Torque Management on the 01's and 02's. Neither the Redline or the ADR reduce the Torque Management. In theory the Redline should reduce the Torque Management, but on my truck it doesn't.

Of course none of this probably applies to sled pulling, and every truck and setup is different.

Have you tried all 3? Thanks for the feedback. I'm new to the redline. Thanks

I just want to clarify that I am totally in love with my Adr/smarty stack. I just want to try a redline to make sure I'm not missing out. How does it compare to Adr?

and map sensor

Yep, forgot about that one. From my readings, I've seen some posts where guys said the redline will work fine without that connection. It just makes the box flash something if I remember right. How you liking your redline Coon? Get those springs in yet?

from what i can tell....the redline fuels way harder all around than the adrenaline. i havent truely put it to the test though. i was waiting on getting that new head installed with the HD valvetrain. i am still babying it until i get my retorques in.

since i have installed the hamilton springs and the head with a good valve job i noticed a major increase in boost: spools sooner, faster.

i am doing another retorque today to 140ft-lbs along with some new injectors....i think i might get on it a little harder today and see what she can do

I'll do a comparison, but you got out a little soon. The new file with custom tuning is unreal. Major change from what you remember, smooth & aggressive now.

im not out of it yet...i just couldnt afford to keep the adrenaline when i bought the redline. i am only trying the redline b/c i got it dirt cheap

if i decide i dont like the redline...i will sell it and buy an adrenaline w/ pulse and have money left over

Yep, understand that. I'm doing the same thing. if I don't like the redline, I'll sell it & buy the wife those new gold necklaces for X-mas.:hehe: Or just keep it & buy her some knockoffs.:rockwoot:

Another question. The Redline uses fuse #9 in the cab to turn it on/off. The Quad also uses this fuse. Do you guys think I'll overload the circuit if I was to hook both to #9 fuse? I'm gonna try stacking with Adrenaline tomorrow & unload Smarty.
