Redline and TST

My buddy RowJ over on DTR picked up 25-30hp with his adrenaline over his TST COMP/Smarty stack. I'm still seriously debating getting an adrenaline once it comes out.

again...25-30hp is not much, especially since the adrenaline is a b***h to drive on the street with its surging...and again, its not fueling to 4k either.

for some its nice...for me its useless. i am selling the TST also since it will be useless to me when the redline is on

The early Adrenaline programming tried to bring fuel/timing in so aggressively that he was pulling the pumps dry

:umno: :bs:

Not possible with the fuel pump he is running.
Explain to me how you figure your going to run a pump dry that has 180gph capabilities?.

Listen..
The truck I cam chatting about is not some run of the mill unit.It has the best parts money can buy and does not have any fuel pump or delivery issues.IF what you saying is a fact then he certainly would have had more of an issue when the TST Comp was reinstalled. No other changes to the truck were made at all other than the box swap and even the Nitrous jets were the same. The Quad unit he had was a beta box and had the good program in it.

Quad makes a good product and everyone knows it will make power once its sorted out.My point here is how you can even compare it to a Redline or any other aggressive fueling box made already until it has been out in the public hands and it gets some real world tests.A couple of dyno runs by one guy does not make the box the end all for power.......Andy

When dynoing the Smarty/Drag stack, guys lose a average of 30hp over the comp alone. From what I understand this was due to overfueling/overtiming at low rpm & the vp44 could not keep up with the demand of fuel needed when used with large injectors & cause a shudder. Correct? The early programs had such aggressive timing that the shudder was so bad that it couldn't be driven on the street. I ran those early dyno programs & they would surge so badly that they would shudder from 1800-2200rpm so aggressively that you had a dead spot right in the middle of the powerband where the power is needed the most to post good numbers. Quad has recognized this problem with the large injector croud & has released a program just yesterday which will bring the timing on later in the rpm range to fix this shuddering. He should have some test results today from the testers who got the program last night. I think it will do well because the Edge comp brings timing on around 2000rpm & you could actually here the rattle of the engine as the timing hits. He was bringing aggressive timing on before 1800rpm & thinks this is where the shudder comes from. I'm no expert, just reading/posting to my understanding. Feel free to set me straight.

Why not put an end to who has the best tune and P-pump your 24v. Guaranteed to blow away ANY Redline racing, pulling or dyno and has the potential to turn 6400 rmp not fighting for 4000.

my redline has gone to 4200 before. and i've been doing so since april...its now august. thats 4 months of pulling that i wasn't waiting for a surge free 4k tune.

im not knocking the adr...its awesome and works great for some people. its not for me tho.

redline will be sold in 2 months also...im going to a different set up that is wire free :ft:

are you seeing 3800 with your foot to the floor and the engine under load, or are you seeing 3800 by just blipping the throttle and getting the engine to hit 3800 wile free-reving?

There is a big difference in the two also the ECM reads the two differently. Full throttle will get you 3200, while part throttle will get you 3500. Free rev can easily hit 3800 for a second or two with big enough injectors...but then the ECM will pull it back.

My truck pulls to 4k+ no matter if I'm hitting the throttle or racing a ricer. Really doesn't make a difference. 2141Pete free revs his truck to 3600 & it only pulls to 3600 while driving. It doesn't matter what I do, it goes over 4k. Actually while free revving it, it starts to sputter sooner if I blip the throttle like in the video. That vid was made to compare with Petes vid, free revved & blipped just like he did.

dunno why or how but my truck will turn 3800 with just the smarty revo. its not making much power...but it will continue accelerating to that point without the redline

I haven't tried Smarty alone, now I'm wondering.

the ecm doesnt matter after 2k on the redline anyways... the redline takes over from 2k beyond there. I have the unlimited edition and I have never tried to take it that high but I have seen 3800 before on stock springs. I know it will rev more but im iffy with stock springs.

you should be...i was floating stock springs at 3600 last year with the TST.

yeah it was a mistakable 3800 i was racing a evo on the freeway...a closed freeway of course. I took of in manual 2 and sprayed and that was the first time I sprayed a bigger shot and it jumped so quick I forgot to shift to d. lol

When i was running the original smarty i could hit and hold 3850. Free rev or w/load. Same setup as in sig except Smarty/tst comp instead of Adr. The funny thing is though i sold the smarty/tst to my cousin and he can only hit 3600. The only differance is he is running DDP 150's w/HO pump. The only thing i can figure is the "brain" of the ho pump governs at 3600.
