Has anyone done this swap yet? I can pick-up an 08 SD with a blown motor and I dont want to fool with the V8. Looked around the intraweb and dont see anyone doing this swap yet!

Couple of guys have already swapped over to CR Cummins. I think theres three that I have seen. A 24V is along the lines as the same. It can be done.

A few months ago there was a Article in Diesel Power of a Brand new 6.4l that was swapped with a 5.9l Right from the get go

Why not do another 6.4? After riding in newer fords ad Chevys I'm not sure I'll ever own another 24v cr.

You would be going backwards to go from the 6.4 to a 24v. Not a 24v commonrail, but definitely to a 24v.

Some are having piston issues due to the extreme backpressure the factory compounds create.

How much is it to build a 6.4 powerstoke compared to swapping in a cummins?

If the small compounds are the issue can you run a decent single on that motor?

There is a couple guys that have gone to a single, but there is also a couple turbo companies who have made drop in replacement compounds.

i believe elite has a set of towing compounds for it. adn a set of race ones
