Replacing the 6.4 with a 24v Cummins???

A tuned 6.4 is impressive to say the least. Mine ran a 12:8 right off a job site with nothing changed and 75lbs in the tires. It has intake, tuner, exhaust only. But I would much rather be working on a cummins than that 6.4. Everything is a pain in the ass to get to. I might have a leaking valve cover on my truck, Ford called it a 20 hour warranty job. How long would that take on a cummins? If someone swapped me an equivalent powered Cummins common rail I would do it but I would not drive any other factory truck over this one. It is one nice rig.

leaking valve cover is about an hour.

I don't see it but have never done it...... The valve cover has to come off and a new gasket put on. Allot needs to come off to even get to that cover on the drivers side. Ford says 10 and that usually means it is half that but still. I mistyped the 20 earlier. I am not gonna due it anyway it is under warranty.

yeah honestly it its a couple hours MAX . i did studs cab on in 8 hours so.....

A guy near me just picked up a 6.4 out of a fire damaged truck for 4500 with less than 50k on it. I think I would shop around for a 6.4 unless you just want to do a swap to do one.

a hell of a lot more CR 5.9's melting pistons than a 6.4 could ever dream of.

Do you have actual numbers on those statistics, there Chiefy?LOL

However, I would NOT exchange any Ford engine for a VP-44 Cummins, one poorly designed turd to another, nothing gained.

And a 12 V will just rip the Ford in half.:stab:

But a VP engine will rip a Dodge into many pieces.....Those rolling beer cans should have never left the factory with anything more than a 6 cylinder gasser.

I would love a 450 king and swap in a 12valve twin turbo not sure on the trans I like my auto but would not want to drop that kind of money again would push 600 hp or so and be very happy

You know, a local PSD owner who insisted Ford owned CumminGs, told me that very thing- the frames would all break, Dodge forgot to build a truck, etc, etc. Yet after 6 years of sledpulling and 150,000 miles, at HP levels 5 times of the factory, my truck was still doing just fine, and he was on his 3rd PSD...-none of them made it out of warranty-the facts are against you SINNER, just like your Bravens ever reaching the Superbowl again!!
I'll bet you have a Caterpillar license plate.

Dyno sheet or I call BS :poke: I know how you Pennsyltuckians calculate HP. LMFAO

And you homos better have those pissbagging towels ready again this year, because you know you can not beat the Ravens again.

Well, if Ray Ray wears enough SWAGGER by Old Spice, I reckon yer girlie men could gas us, that might give you a snowballs chance in hell of getting past us.:blahblah1:

Right, just like if that homo Polamatu can get his helmet over his hair the steelers might have a chance...

2 pro bowl selections LMFAO

Looks like the 5 Ravens selected will be busy with another game but it's the thought that counts.

talk about getting off subject! LMAO!

I would never trade if for a vp44 engine. 6.4's seem to bad @$$ if you tune them right. If you're dead set on a cummins, do a 24v p-pump, or a common rail.

Why not do another 6.4? After riding in newer fords ad Chevys I'm not sure I'll ever own another 24v cr.

because not all of us can afford to spend 10k plus on basic mods past a tuner and a intake  and not all of us can afford to pull the cab everytime something major needs to be worked on, i dont know how much a 12v or 24v swap would cost but in my opinion im sure it would be cheaper than modding a fudging 6.4, doing a p pumped 24 valve conversion in a 6.4 body would be the best of both worlds, a nice motor that is easy and cheap to work on and having a badass truck that surrounds it, unless u can afford to build a 6.4 or pull the cab everytime somethiing goes wrong with your 6.4, and 12v or ppumped 24 valve swap would not be a bad idea, and this is coming from a tuned 6.4 owner, not a cummins nutswinger

I refuse to rebuild the 6.4! I want a dependable truck and Im not talking about a 24v VP engine... It would be a P-pumped 24v.

you would have to pull the cab with either motor to do a rebuild. But you would be able to do a head gasket, injectors extra cab on easily.

I agree with your statement, I believe a 12v or p pumped 24v surrounded by the 08-10 f-250 cab would be one Badass truck, and I would like to see it happen also, and also a price quote on a project like this
