Running truck with out inner cooler?

you can just line up clamps along the boot or you can wrap the **** out of them w/ some high strength tape. or both

Ok bro thanks for the help I'm gonna order all new boots and more clamps and wrap and clamp the **** out of it haha

Peak boots on the intercooler and either tanker discharge hose or big truck coolant hose. I run the peak boots on the intercooler and the coolant hose on the straight sections with mikalor clamps on the compressor outlet and a retaining strap on the hot side intercooler pipe. No problems at all, and I have seen 75+psi with it this way.

Retaining straps, get the pipes fabbed as close and straight as you can, and even gorrilla tape. Then they should hold. I wouldn't v-band.

I don't like v bands either. Not on a truck that ever sees the street. It puts to much stress on other parts that were never designed for it. I rebuilt all my piping and used straight boots on the intercooler and not having the bend in the boot was huge. I've got Vulcan boots and the lower ones are straight 3-3 1/2 reducer boots from Haisley. Mine used to blow at 70 psi and after I rebuilt the piping I did some other engine work. Now hey hold 80 psi with no problems. Haven't blown 1.

I'm still running the stock boots on the secondary side of the inter cooler and haven't blown them at 75psiLOL

Ha ha ya I have the stock boot and clamps on the intake side going n the motor and holding 70lb but the others not so much

ive been using boots from Haisleys.. holding up to 84lbs for a couple years with no issues whatsoever..

may sound dumb but im running goodyear greenback gator rad hose for ic boots and never have have a problem yet ive seen 70psi couple times and runs mid 60s alot, only thing is i needed all new clamps these hoses are 1/4 inch thick only did this cause i ripped my factory one and we have the hose laying at work so its free

ran pdr (now peak)

when i had my 12v. would see 70 psi and hold no problem, but i did v band clamp them..

My stock boots held 80 psi on the engine side. I am running a full set of BD boots w/supplied clamps on both my trucks. I've blown them off once on each truck. Not sure the cause on my 12v, but it was a loose clamp that did it on my dually. I'm estimating it was over 110 psi on my dually that it took. Only once, tightened up the clamp and it never happened again.

I had welded a tab to the intercooler tube and another to the inter cooler then bolted a metal strap to tie them together

Not dumb at all! Heavy rad hose (for heavy equipment, class 8 etc.) cant be beat - 100+ psi no issues. It just costs a fortune (relative to silicone, unless you get it for free!) and is very hard to work with (hard insertion of pipes). Gates or Goodyear.
