looking at maybe getting a new turbo for my truck. well basicly a parts list lol. ive heard that the s300g is a good turbo for an upgrade. anyone know what the specs are on this, and maybe some reviews on how you like it and how well it performs? found a website that its comparable to the super b turbo. ill have my 5 speed in by then and maybe ddp stage 2 injectors and probly a 0 fuel plate.....or mia not sure yet :rockwoot: think that might be enough fuel to light this turbo up? thought about maybe a 64ish sized turbo but might be a little laggy since i will only tow during the spring. thanks guys.

I think it's a 57/65/14. A super b is an s300g. They are good little turbos.

I have a very low mile 62/65/14 if that's the route you choose to go.

really don't have power goals. just a reliable truck. just some stage 2 or 3 injectors, ground off plate, and a better turbo is all i have in mind. just read something about the s300g's and thought they sounded alright. was really wanting a 62 or 64 but didn't know if it would be too laggy. the 62 would probly be the less laggy one of those two options. any ideas? how did the 62/65/14 run for you NMB2?

s300g is barely an upgrade, i wouldnt waste the money on such a small turbo, go with a 62. you can get a 62 to spool like stock

thats what i just read a little while ago. idk why i would want to spend that much money for barely over stock sized turbo lol. OrangeNV you have a 5 speed dont you? ill be doing the swap from an auto to manual before i get a turbo, you think it'll help light a 62 up pretty good? ive talked to a couple guys that said they had a little bit of lag but they had autos.

with a 12v its all in the tune, no turbo is lag free, even stock turbos can have a ton of lag if they are tuned wrong or driven like a douche. the bigger the exhaust wheel you use as well as the bigger the exhaust housing is going to have more lag, but better top end power and egt reduction at high rpm.

smaller wheels and housings, better spool, choking top end

there is no need to go bigger than a 5x.012 injector with a 62 as well, if you plan on running 40lbs of boost head studs would be good insurance

i bet a 62 would sound bad azz with a 5" tip, i gotta look into one of those

i probly wont push the truck all that much. i bout have a heart attack every time i fill up with fuel. but the only time i tow is during the spring time hauling 1000 gal of fertilizer to the fields, which is probly only 10000 lbs with the trailer, maybe more i don't know. most likely get the ddp stage 2's which is think is a 5x.012 injectors, i could be wrong. our other work truck has them and they do pretty well. i wouldn't run past 40 lbs. the 62 and 12 housing sounds pretty good.

yes i know that. thats all ive had and they did pretty well. heard theyre spray angle isn't right for the 12v's. but i don't know. what are some good brands.

before somebody comes in here and tears you a new one for being new........search all this stuff, there is enough info for you to read and compile for weeks

new on here...yes. ive been on CF for a long time now. i was just asking your imput on injectors. ive only used ddp's and ive had good luck with them. had marine injectors in before and they were absolutely horrible. i hated them. the reason i asked was because the 5x.012 from ddp have a 155 spray angle which from what i understood the 12v runs better with 145? not wanting to stray from the original subject of turbos...thats just what ive learned from reading.

what is imput?

155 is the marine spray angle

145 is stock, you want regular VCO 145 5x.012 injectors, SDX, JL, Contagious, just make sure what you are getting

how long have you ben reading diesel forums?

you can use either, your setup is much more suited for CF

been reading for year and a half. i have A LOT of free time in class(like right now haha) but ive been a member for not as long. i got tired of over there cause all they do is argue and criticize EVERYTHING. i read a thread about what looked better-tow mirrors flipped in or out- and they were labeling people douchbags for having tow mirrors flipped out and hitches in. i thought it was a little rediculous to get in a fight over that. oh well.

I would rather have sac nozzle injectors than VCO. Even Weston has said that they are an improvement for a performance build. SDX even has a new line of sac injectors.

The s300g is a great little turbo for the right application. It cost less that a grand new so it's really not that bad. But it is not a turbo for a high performance application in any way. It's for stock to very mildly modified trucks only. If you only want say 350hp to tow with I would advise considering one.
