Well after spending 3 hours saturday trying to find the oil inlet fitting for this turbo I thought our freightliner at work may have one and sure enough it did. Spent all sunday putting charger on, cutting, making pieces, etc. Finally decided to take up welding and couldn't have timed it any better. It ain't pretty but it gets the job done ha. Haven't run it hard yet, just went for an initial heat cycle run. Turnin in for the night, will run it and adjust gate as necessary depending on what I get. Right now I just have unregulated boost going to the top port of the gate and the bottom plugged with the stiffest spring setup I can run. Want to see what drive if any I get with this setup. Enjoy the pics!

My brackett that bolts on the alternator to hold heavy ass pipe chris at ED made up for me. Thanks for the suggestion man!

Holy air filter ha!

Left the excess line on as when I put a regulator on i'm sure I'll need it. Gotta love flex pipe exhaust lol.

My not so beautiful down pipe welding ha. The t66 flange is almost identical if not identical to the s468 flange.

Let me know what you guys think. Hope this thing rocks and will find out soon!

What is the temp rating on your poly tubing? That would bother me just a little. I ran the flexpipe on the other side of the downpipe, and it worked out. I didn't think it would fit on that side, but you proved otherwise!

Looks good.

Your welding looks similar to mine. Double check the exhaust side for leaks, get the flashlight out and inspect for pinholes!

Do they make band clamps for that tiny of flex pipe? Looks awsome!

It's not super high, like 150 or so I think. I think it's marked I'll double check. Didn't even think about the high temps associated with the boost:bang. Saw it at Ace and though oh no worries it wont' get that hot ambient over there:badidea:. If I have an issue with it i'll make changes. I like it because it's very very snug over the barb fitting.

I must have gone over this dp 9 time ha ha. I did the pinhole check though worked pretty well. I welded inside and outside so think I got most of them! Definitely need some more practice and flux core isn't helping the situation:bang

With that tight of a housing and an E.D. gate we might have a winner here.

Jim

.90 housing with some ED magic. Haven't tuned anything thus far and can say I definitely need to tighten the afc up a bit. I've seen around 55psi thus far but need to do some tuning. It definitely pulls harder then the t66 but that was expected.

Do you need that fitting for the FL80 or did you get one Nick?

JG Parks had it, got it this morning. Oddly enough when giving them the serial number from the 8.3 it came up indicating the oil line screwed directly into the turbo which is not correct (maybe turbo was replaced, truck has 480k on it or so). Luckily I have my serial number in my cell phone and when giving them that it came up fine and they had a cabinet full of them like I suspected. Too bad they weren't open saturday, the new fitting looks so much nicer then the one I put in lol:hehe:

Hoping to get to the track this wednesday, not sure if work and weather will permit though. Our fricken server is down and will be likely most of the day so I'm sure it'll have me nice and behind by the days end:(

Nick...
You had trouble spooling the big Turbonetic's charger and making it perform to its capabilities, how do you plan to spool the much bigger S465???.......Andy

So far it's pretty simple, put my foot down with a little care and hold on! This charger makes the truck pull way harder and is showing more boost then the t66!!! I'd guess atleast 110mph through the traps up from 104mph at this point but that's just a guess. Haven't had a chance to do any 4x4 launches yet, read drive pressure, or adjust the gate.

Also, as far as the t66 went Andy I just switched from a header to a PDI t4 manifold, added a turbo sock, and added a manifold blanket, and the t66 spooled way quicker. The header takes longer to get the charger goin from 0-10psi.

Still need to place the turbo sock back on this s468, right now I don't have it on.

Did u run the flex pipe under the truck and let it vent to the atmosphere vs tying it in to the DP? I'm definitely gonna need some schooling on setting up the WG. I understand dirve pressure should be one input, and I guess boost is another. But what's up with the springs?
